Please post your device (with optional ROM/Android version) if Poweramp alpha Hi-Res audio works for it. If it doesn't work, check this thread: Hi Max, I was wondering, like USB Audio Player Pro, will V3 have an option to bypass Android audio processing if a better DAC is detected (either internally as with the LG V30 or externally)? This Hi-Res Output appears to just be to support Hi-Res music files, but not to bypass Android audio processing? Or am I wrong?? Please kindly let me know. Thank you!! maxmp
Poweramp (alpha) pionered hi-res output on Android (as third party player), if device supports hi-res output Poweramp uses that. As for bypassing anything, Android audio subsystem is always there, though hi-res audio is usually not mixed in Android software mixer. Uapp uses the same approach as PA regarding hi-res via wired/bt headset.

Since the AUX jack and built in DAC's on the phone are going away, the standard on all Flagship phones now....these external USB DAC's adapters "dongles" are the only way and support for them is a must to stay a usable high quality audio music player app.
