Poweramp builds 912-921

@Yttersta Have you tried what Max suggested, i.e. start Poweramp on your phone before you turn the car systems on and connect to AA?

What is not working with import/export settings? As I understand it, an old backup file from build 911 and before should still be OK to import into build 912. Also, 912 backups can be created as backward-compatible if you only select the original features (as shown below) but if you select any of the newer stuff then the backup file will only work on 912 onward as 911 won't understand the format.

@maxmp The problem with the pause-on-low-volume occurs with 76 or 100 steps, and with various output methods. It seems to happen because the Pause gets triggered by volume<3, rather than only when volume=0.

So when you turn the volume back up again, vol=1 resumes playback, but then the next step up is vol=2 which triggers another pause.

@hypomaniac-eric do you use any 3rd party skin, if so, which one? Is this on Pixel device?

I'm using Liv Dark at the moment.  Not sure if it did it on the other one i was using. My skins was defaulted after the android upgrade and factory reset, even with my backups.  so I had to changed the skin and colors back.  I'm on a Galaxy S21.

Cannot start the application on this build. Using FiiO X5iii (runs Android 5.1.1).

Installed 912 over existing and fully functioning 911 build.

Poweramp launches, says audio engine failed, then automatically queues (but does not play) a song I did not elect it to, that song fails to load its embedded album art or even display a track length (shows —:—), and then goes to the now playing screen on its own, at which point the app crashes.

I uninstalled any third party skins and same result occurred.

The crash occurs within 5-10 seconds of startup of Poweramp, btw, I am quite unable to even get into the settings menu to find any culprit there.

Hi all! I actually have a Samsung S20 ultra with OneUi4 beta (Android 12).

Im facing with an issue, the Poweramp notification panel not updating. If i open the app and start another track, its ok. But when playing in background, the notification panel not updating.

Another problem (maybe its not a bug..)

Also the notification bar, it shows the artist (none of my tracks using this tag, im using album artist tag.) So in the notification bar i see unkown artist. Anyone have a solution for this problem?

Thanks, regards:

Tom

You are the second Fiio user to report an issue with build 912, I wonder if there is some compatibility issue with the customised versions of very old Android builds that they use?

That would be as expected. The Artist tag is used for tracks/songs, and it can vary from song to song within one album (e.g. duets/collaboration tracks, collections/compilations, etc) so that is what is what is shown in the notification. The Album Artist tag should only be used to identify and link albums - otherwise you'd see every song from (for example) the Pretty Woman soundtrack as being by "Various Artists" instead of being attributed individually to Roy Orbison, David Bowie, Roxette, etc.

unable to import preset inside and also advanced stereo is still broken.

Sorry, I think a translation possibly didn't work too well there.

Are you talking about importing EQ Presets (such as perhaps an AutoEQ file) which is done within the equalizer screen, or are you importing an existing Settings backup from a previous version of PA (which shouldn't be necessary when upgrading from older builds, all your options and settings should remain intact).

And by "Advanced Stereo" do you mean the fizzing sound that can be heard when the Stereo Expand control is turned up high?

I think that is the problem, otherwise it would have also happened with the default Vol step.

I mean importing Equalizer presets as per your first statement like auto EQ file. For the advanced stereo the fizzing sound was there in 912 but in 913 the fizzing sound is not there but something different that's altering the quality of sound or something. It's not like previous regular advanced stereo.

I have problems to import presets. Force close

I've just tried importing a couple of downloaded AutoEQ preset .txt files into PA 913, and while they don't cause PA to crash they also don't seem to import anything into the Preset either. This could of course be something I'm doing wrong, as I've not used them before. Some content examples:

Poweramp has crashed multiple times on me today. I'm assuming I got the update since certain things look a bit different and I had to go in and fix some settings.

Which version, 912 or 913? And what where you doing at the time of the crashes?

@Fitzian The problem here is the cpu which is too old and doesn't support vfp4. And we absolutely need vfp4 for the descent performance on 32bit devices for the new NDK which we're forced to use due to the Play Target SDK requirements.

I suggest using build 911 on your device.

I am using version 912 now, and I have problem with randomly skipping tracks when I use android auto mode. When playing one song is finished, it skips a few next songs instead playing next one in a folder. When I want to manually choose the song that should be played (using android auto interface) it skips it, but when I choose this song on the phone, it plays it normally.
I don't know that is powerapm or android auto issue, but on previous build I had installed, it was everything ok.

I am using xiaomi mi9t pro, with stock EEA rom
