Poweramp builds 875-882

When using the Shuffle icon on the player screen, selecting 'Shuffle All' also alters the Repeat mode from my normal 'Advance List' to 'Repeat Category'.

No idea why, but whatever caused this has now gone away (no PA build change). I guess somewhere there's a setting which was conflicting, so if it happens again I'll try and determine what triggered it.

[Edit] Found it. When 'No Reshuffle' mode is enabled in Settings > Library > Lists, if you set the Shuffle mode to 'Shuffle All Songs' in the player screen, the Repeat mode gets changed from 'Advance List' or 'Off' to 'Repeat Category'. With 'No Reshuffle' mode turned off, changing the Shuffle mode has no impact on the Repeat setting.  So 'No Reshuffle' seems to be the culprit.

@Mr. Make Believe thanks for the idea, currently trying to implement it the way you described - there is an advanced option which enables per Files-only Folder to have separate (in fact, the one matching plain Folder Files) zoom level.

@andrewilley some specific code does this and I can't remember why, so I disabled that.

When will this version 878 be available on the Brazilian Playstore? I am in the beta program I am currently at 877.

It will once the Play Store gets updated, but the quickest method is always to download the APK file from here on the website.

@maxmp, thank you for the Github update. However the new bookmark icon is not accessible and produces the following error

AAPT: error: style attribute 'com.maxmpz.audioplayer:attr/bookmarks' is private.

Works fine for me in light or dark with the supplied skins and in $YAPS$. I wonder if it's device or skin dependent?

You're right I also think it could be a device specific issue, but not skin related because I have tested both built-in skins + luminous white & retro Black skin as well they all have same problem. It's noticable only when I choose Settings Theme Default/Light. I was using play beta builds & never had this problem infact I download the latest 878 uni build few hours ago & found this problem play store beta v877 doesn't have this issue

Device Redmi note 4, android 7.0, miui 11

This what it looks like when I choose black settings theme

While testing all this wonderful new text-only layout loveliness in 878, I noticed a minor bug in the List Options sort ordering (not sure how long it's been there for).

There doesn't seem to be any difference between setting the sort order to By Track# against By Disc and Track# - the result is the same either way, songs get sorted by disc number first and then by track number.

While I personally think that using Disc first and then Track is really the only sensible way to do it, given that there are two options provided I think By Track# ought to do what it says on the tin and start with all the first tracks, then all the second tracks, etc. Or maybe just merge the two options into one? I do wonder if there is actually a real-world scenario where someone has a need to sort only by track numbers while ignoring any disc numbers.

@andrewilley That change (track number and separate disc numbers in the db) required full rescan to rebuild tags, if not, it may give the same sorting results. I agree that sorting just by track has little sense (mostly it have sense for disc and non-disc tagged albums, which should be rare).

I do Full Rescans fairly often for testing, so my database should be fully up to date. I still don't see any difference between setting Track# and Disc# & Track# sorting though. This screenshot is ordered by only Track# for example, so it ought to show the sequence as 1, 1, 2, 2, 3, 3, etc. rather than 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 1, 2, 3, 4, etc.

It's not a major issue, but I guess there may be someone out there who actually wants a track-number only sequence, and if the option is going to remain then it'd be nice for it to work as expected.

@andrewilley also there is a difference in the disc + track sorting vs just track number for tracks without disc or track # at all - for the former such tracks are at the bottom. There is a chance some users got used to the specific sorting so probably removing it now is not wise.

@maxmp  I just created a few test tracks to understand what is happening, the songs have embedded tags as follows:
image.png

As you indicated that any empty tags should be listed at the bottom of the list (after any valid values) I would have expected plain Track# order to give:
B, D, F (i.e. the three Tracks tagged as #01) then C, E, G (the three Tracks tagged as #02) then A (no track tag).

However they actually show as follows in Track# sorting (still apparently observing Disc# tags):
image.png

Similarly, Disc# & Track# ordering should be:
D, E (Disc #1, Tracks #01 and #02) then F, G (Disc #2, Tracks #01 and #02) then B, C (empty disc tag, Tracks #01 and #02) then A (no tags at all).

However using Disc# & Track# sorting, they actually show this way:
image.png

The handling of empty disc tags is a bit inconsistent. Sometimes (when there is no Track# tag either) an empty disc tag correctly interprets as null, but other times it shows as Disc #1. See other thread on the subject

Can we have higher network stream buffer please. 2MB is only 2 seconds @ 8mbps stream. I am getting stuttering sometimes over local network. I think 5 would be good or even 10mb.
Or is there a reason for it being 2mb max?

Thanks

Hi guys, on page 3 I said Poweramp was unable to find my playlists. I was on the Android 11 beta 2.

Not sure if the latest update made a fix or something, but now I have access to all my playlists and everything seems to work fine.

Thank you guys!

@UK_SPAWN it's mostly for internet radios, which are usually 96-128kBps, so 2mb is a lot of music on this bitrate, but I guess you're streaming some flacs/uncompressed music - the max. buffer size will be increased.

Thats right, I use FLAC to stream to my Mobile when I am out. I have unlimited data plan so I can use my high quality library from my home PC.

Thanks that is good to hear.
