  1. maxmp's post in Material You Colours was marked as the answer
@Loweaul thanks for the request. Actually, cover-based colors for main screen is somewhat quite often requested and already a planned feature. In Poweramp it's a bit more complicated as it have to properly and smoothly animate all these colors back and forth to/from lists (where we want some fixed color for all tracks), but doable and that will be available for 3rd party skins.

@ihaspei hi, thanks for the report, please see the PM from me.
  3. maxmp's post in Enabling 24-bit RGB covers make them look blurry was marked as the answer
@Chewy should be fixed by 950, thanks!
  4. maxmp's post in Unable to find audio files from phone in full version was marked as the answer
@Pravin yadav thanks for the detailed report. Poweramp works just fine on your device, but you probably confused by multiple file access methods available on Android and limitations associated with them.  It’s designed this specific way by Google anyway. Designed this way clearly to push users to use files less and cloud services more.
In your case just use Settings / Library / Music Folders and add your folders with the music. (You can’t add whole storage this way or Downloads/ folder, but you can add any other subfolders, including subfolders inside Downloads).
    Thanks!
  5. maxmp's post in Next beta was marked as the answer
@Bhaveshpa the next beta is 949 and no any new features are planned as it’s just 948 with all minor issues fixed.
The next series of betas (after 948+ stabilizes) will include high quality tempo and pitch changing as a new (or improved) feature.
  6. maxmp's post in Audio Engine Failed to Load message was marked as the answer
@David Owen try another audio output, esp. if the current one is Hi-res output, or reboot the phone. Thanks!
  7. maxmp's post in Double Equalizer app icons was marked as the answer
This may happen if launcher doesn’t support multiple enabled/disabled icons properly. If restarting device doesn’t help only the default icon may work properly without dups.
  8. maxmp's post in Graphical interface defects was marked as the answer
@Tristar Please try with the default skin. If it’s not reproduced I guess this is some skin issue (seems like colors not always specified for title/line2 scenes so it reuses some previous color).
  9. maxmp's post in No album art when using Poweramp in Android Auto Coolwalk was marked as the answer
There are few options under Poweramp album art settings, such as API compatibility which you may try.
  10. maxmp's post in Premium IAP not working was marked as the answer
What error do you see? Please ensure proper account (the one used previously for the purchase) is selected in your Play app and try Restore purchase in Equalizer few times.
  11. maxmp's post in Alternative Folder for Milk Presets was marked as the answer
@bed thanks for the request. Actually access to this folder is possible even for the recent Androids and 3rd party file managers (e.g. Solid), adb, or usb-pc connection, though file access becomes more limited with each Android version, so option to add/select some preset folder will be added asap.
  12. maxmp's post in Skip silence DSP was marked as the answer
Thanks for the request. I would add that there is set of DSP plugins/filters which are planned for Poweramp. This is planned for the iteration past the next big one (the LRC one). The planned DSP to be added or improved:
    - improved tempo + pitch support
    - dynamic gain control and (offline) replay gain scanner
    - crossfeed
    - (added now) silence removal
  13. maxmp's post in How can I disable the automatic notification of Poweramp in the notification area after each restart even though the app wasn't opened? was marked as the answer
@Pluviophile while that notification media area is now "backed in" in Android 11+ (and Samsung further modified this), you still has some control over it with Poweramp notification settings and system global options:
    - system: you can completely disable Poweramp notification.
    - Poweramp: Look and Feel / Notifications:
Notification type: Media with custom color (+ may be White colors for the dark theme) will transform notification to the "normal" one Keep Notification (off by default) - if off, media notification immediately removed if player paused. If enabled, media notification stays
  14. maxmp's post in Please add SMB (Samba) was marked as the answer
    Try https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.wa2c.android.cifsdocumentsprovider&hl=en&gl=US
This works as plugin and the smb shares are available via Poweramp Music Folders selection:
Add Folder Or Storage use side menu / select CIFS Documents Provider
  15. maxmp's post in Frequency knob in the Compressor page was marked as the answer
@Morio Wada The compressor is a multiband compressor/expander. The frequency knob defines the dividing frequency between low and high bands of the compressor. This allows compressing/expanding lows and highs separately, for example, basses can be specifically compressed. Thanks!
  16. maxmp's post in Custom Volume Control was marked as the answer
Custom volume levels are disabled for Android 12 as Android 12 doesn't have this feature anymore, but you can increase number of volume levels via Samsung's SoundAssistant app (Change step volume option, when set to 1 => this is 150 levels of volume). Poweramp supports this feature automatically.
This is about volume levels, but you also mentioned volume rocker long press - this is a separate feature and it requires additional permission, but still works in Android 12.
  17. maxmp's post in File Access Component is missing was marked as the answer
    Please check here for details:
I would add that Asus stock roms, obviously, have no such issue by default as any Android compatible firmware should support system file picker. Some custom ROMs may have this "optimized' out, also some package disablers and "optimizers" or manual adb commands may disable/remove that package, but this always require user intervention.
Disabling this package is like removing "Open File" system dialog from Windows.
If nothing helps, you can always use Legacy File Access option. Though more and more updated apps will fail to work for you as they depend on system file picker now and Google requires new and updated apps to use the system file picker.
  18. maxmp's post in Spotify paused Poweramp starts was marked as the answer
@.Shadow the priority is managed by Android OS. On firmwares close to AOSP it should be the last player active gets priority, but some firmwares (e.g. Huaweis) change those priorities a lot.
  19. maxmp's post in SONOS SUPPORT AND DLNA/UPNP SUPPORT was marked as the answer
@Jon Kingsbury DNLA “casting” is a planned feature, but no deadline set. DNLA blocker is that straightforward support for it will require doubling Poweramp APK size (+10mb) for the feature which I guess will be used by few percents of users (good if by 1%). Poweramp recently moved to Play bundles which allows “feature” download, so main APK may stay small and additional features are downloaded as needed, but there is still an issue for website (uni) builds.
As for Sonos, there is no open APIs to cast on it. May be AirPlay solution will work for it - AirPlay implementations, independent from Apply, do exist and can be integrated into Poweramp. Some open source Sonos casting libraries exist, but I guess it will be very hard to support this long term.
  20. maxmp's post in Volume jumping up and down on bluetooth connect was marked as the answer
This is absolute volume detection. See "Direct Volume Control (DVC)" in Poweramp settings. You can disable "No DVC for Bluetooth Absolute Volume" option if you know your device absolute volume status.
  21. maxmp's post in A ação de tocar na música e enfileirar ao pesquisar parou de funcionar was marked as the answer
@João Pedro Dias thanks for the report, to be fixed. @andrewilley this is for the "Enqueue and stay in the list" option. Looks like rarely used, as nobody before (~600k beta users) reported it.
  22. maxmp's post in Parar de repetir tanto as músicas 🤯 was marked as the answer
There will be reshuffling logic changes soon, where shuffle will be less random: the recently played tracks will be moved to the bottom of the shuffled list. I hope this will resolve issue with largest collections, reshuffling, and randomly selected recently played songs. Thanks!
  23. maxmp's post in difference between Poweramp file access modes was marked as the answer
@Utsav Legacy mode - direct file access. Poweramp uses this by default for Androids 5-9. This one is fast and allows access to any folder user chooses.
Default mode on Androids 10-12 is Storage Access Framework (SAF) - actively pushed by Google. Much slower (10-100x, though Poweramp optimizes scan so it's comparable vs Legacy mode), doesn't allow access to storage root, /Downloads, /Android. User is forced to add separate folders in Poweramp Music Folders selection dialog.
Google threatens to remove legacy mode almost in each Android version starting from 10, but to the date (Android 12L) it's not removed (for Poweramp) and works almost fine (Samsung ROMs may silently remove file access permission on ROM updates).
Generally all apps must use SAF on Android 10+. Old not updated apps may continue to use direct file access. There is also "dangerous" All Files Access permission Google may grant to selected apps (this is almost the same as Legacy file access).
  24. maxmp's post in Adding songs to playlist is very slow (in some circumstances) was marked as the answer
@The Timebreaker writing extremely large playlists (thousands of tracks), esp. on slow medium (sd-card) may be slow, but not that slow. 20k songs are written in ~1sec. Due to the way new file access is implemented on Android, we can't do direct file access though.
The problem lies not just in the saving itself, but in the Android scanner intercepting our saved file and trying to parse stuff. If you have 1000+ tracks on the phone "known" to the system scanner, it will slow down any media files ops around file based playlist on that phone and that's the slowdown you can see. Android scanner tries to find all tracks, and it does it without using db indexes or otherwise so slowly that it may take minutes. I guess Google never tested that scenario.
You can get better results by adding .nomedia empty file into the folder where you have your playlists stored. Note that other music players won't see media content in folders with .nomedia file (and any subfolders of these).
Enabling Legacy file access may help too, but Android scanner will take its time anyway, just in background. Also, moving from/to Legacy access requires Music Folders reselection, so this may break all meta information associated with the tracks (ratings, play statistics, etc.), unless data backup is used.
Also, due to this issue, I will revert playlist saving from atomic saving to less safer target file write.

  25. maxmp's post in Notification bar player - track name issue was marked as the answer
@manorbas thanks for the feedback, but unfortunately this is firmware issue - the notification API is the same for Androids 10-12.
Probably some workaround is possible if I’m able to reproduce the issue, but Samsung already updated Android 12 with a “security update” on my devices, so that can be fixed already.
