  1. You are always running a Skin, whether it's a built-in one or something third-party. That would be your only solution anyway. But yes, it might be an idea to avoid beta releases just in case there are any minor conflicts that the skin dev needs to catch up, with before the app update goes to the Stable channel. Andre
  2. What output method are you using in Poweramp? Try setting that menu back to Defaults, and avoid trying to use any high-res features. Also try with DVC turned off. Andre
  3. So not something you need looked into from the Poweramp point of view, it's the particular conferencing software that is the problem here? Andre
  4. I'm not familiar with any of those apps, but if you are using an app which handles its own audio (such as a video conferencing app) then presumably that will take Audio Focus away from Poweramp so playback would stop. Or are you trying to share Poweramp's audio output with other conferencing participants? Andre
  5. The display name should be taken from the data provided by the streaming station. Is that not working for you? The only time that can become a problem is in Category Lists when the station has provided full song/artist details for the last song - in which case the station name usually gets shown as an Album name, which can become confusing if you have a lot of stations. Andre
  6. @ihaspei Yes, skins are the way to go if you want to heavily customise the interface. The two supplied skins are designed for general usage on most devices, but the third-party ones can obviously do a lot more in terms of optional adjustments. Andre
  7. To customise the interface in more depth than the default Skins allow, try using one of the many third-party Skins. See the Skins subforum for more details. Obviously turn off things like Visualizations and scrolling text if you find them distracting. https://forum.powerampapp.com/forum/23-skins-and-visualizations/ Andre
  8. As long as you are using the same Google account as before, you should be able to go to the Play Store install the Poweramp Trial Version, and then install the Unlocker app. If you bought directly from the website, install the APK version downloaded from here (not Play Store version) and then use the Already Purchased? option in the Settings menu. By the way, to reboot your old phone try holding the Vol+ and Vol- keys at the same time, then plug in the charger cable. Keep the buttons held until device starts to boot. Andre
  9. The experimental hi-res mode can be very device nd Android-version dependent. It's also worth making sure that any other device processing is turned off (Dolby, etc) and also try disabling DVC. Try using AAudio output rather than hi-res. HI-res fails completely on my Samsung Galaxy A54 with Samsung's Android 14 (worked fine with Android 13) but AAudio is perfect up to 192k/24-bit with my CX31993-based USB dongle. Andre
  10. Not quite sure what you are asking, but if it's about setting up Poweramp and getting it to scan your phone to find your local music files, have a look at the first few Usage Guides: https://forum.powerampapp.com/kb/en_us/guides/ Andre
  11. I think I've worked out why it wasn't working for me. With MusiXmatch set as the preferred app, it works fine as long as there are no embedded lyrics or a LRC file. Long-pressing on 'Lyrics' in the song's content menu opens the MusiXmatch interface as expected, and displays any found lyrics - basically it just bypasses the "No Lyrics Found" > 'Open Lyrics App' sequence. However if there are already embedded lyrics, or an associated LRC file, then long-pressing on 'Lyrics' in the song context menu opens the old half-screen panel view of the current lyric data (verbatim, including displaying timecodes/etc) with a single 'Search' button at the bottom. Pressing that Search button just offers to do an internet search, it does not open (or even offer) MusiXmatch: Andre
  12. Ah, it's already an option, which I didn't have enabled: Andre
  13. Strange, doesn't currently seem to be the case for me. If a song contains embedded lyrics, or a LRC file exists, then those lyrics are displayed and there doesn't seem to be any way to get to the 3rd party app to find alternatives. I've tried from the context menu in category song lists, from long-pressing on artwork in the Player Screen (or using three-dots menu item, if that is enabled), and even enabling the floating Lyrics button (which normally I have hidden) and long-pressing on that. All of these actions just display the existing lyrics, with no facility to search for alternative words via the 3rd party app. Andre
  14. @w3wilkes And if that doesn't work, there's always PA's own option to Resume on BT Connection. Andre
  15. Last update release for the EQ app was 3rd January, so definitely still current. Yes, you are right that Android headunits are a law unto themselves, and especially around their power-down sequences. Max would be able to confirm if any other background processes need to be protected to keep the Equalizer app operating. Andre
  16. It's an optional setting, in Settings=>Headset/Bluetooth=>Ignore Bluetooth Commands. Just set it to zero. Andre
  17. This was the one with the dual amp chip: https://a.aliexpress.com/_Ex78VVn
  18. 32ohms is pretty standard. There is a similar USB-C DAC which also includes an extra amp chip, for high load outputs. Andre
  19. Yes, USB Audio Player Pro has direct drive code that works to bypass everything else and connect with the hardware directly. Not sure how universal that is, but it does seem to work (although when configured to do this, it prevents other apps from accessing the output). The CX31993 and CS46L41 based DACs do support microphone. They also support all three inline buttons for wired headsets. The particular CS46L41 model that I chose did not work with the Galaxy A54 on its original Android 13 ROM. Every other Samsung device was fine, as was an Asus tablet, but I no longer have the dongle so I can't say if the recent Android 14 update may have fixed the issue. The audio quality was streets ahead of any of the ones I could get locally, and the annoying low-level noise that I'd been noticing when listening at low volumes at night was non-existent. To be honest though, these things are so cheap from China (a lot in the 5€-10€ range) that it's almost worth just sending for one anyway just to try it. Just do a search on AliExpress and find something with these higher quality chips (look for decent S/N and DNR values). Many suppliers on there offer free international delivery, if you don't mind it taking a couple of weeks to arrive. Andre
  20. The UK version of Apple's USB DAC dongle produced really low output levels when I tried one on my Galaxy A54 (like around -25dB from where it should be) which I gather is a design defect / intent. The three inline buttons worked fine though, which I wasn't expected from an Apple device. The official Samsung one was very poor at low levels, lots of digital noise and analogue hiss. I tried a few others from Amazon UK with similarly poor results, and ended up going the Chi-Fi route where you can get devices with much better driver chips at lower prices (look for specs of S/N>125dB and 32-bit/384kHz output). The Galaxy A54 had issues with one specific CS46L41 based dongle (https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005004763520790.html) as the inline buttons did not work; not sure why, but the same dongle worked fine on my older A70 and on all the other recent Samsungs that I tested in a helpful local phone store, it was only the A54 that had button compatibility issues. I've now ended up with a CX31993 based dongle (https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005006224269385.html) which works well, has a very low noise threshold and great S/R ratio and dynamic range. Far better build quality than most of the stuff you get over here, and cheaper even when being sent from China: Signal-to-noise ratio/SNR: >128dB Dynamic range/DNR:>120dB Distortion/THD+N:95dbTHD+N:0.0003%DSD:64/128 (PCM) This thread gives more info on my trials and tribulations of trying to find a decent but cheap USB-C DAC. Curse you Samsung for removing the perfectly good and reliable 3.5mm socket. Andre
  21. @Athez So rather than the current track continuing to play out in silence for 10 seconds after the end of its official duration, you would prefer the next track to commence early in silence (counter starting at -10 seconds). I agree that would probably make more sense, in the same way that pre-gaps work with CDs. Andre
  22. Yes, Max said it would be further improved in the next beta build. Andre
  23. @nowhere Correct. The new featire of tapping anywhere on that second line simply mimics one of the existing options from the context menu. Andre
  24. There's more of a curve to it than that (Max would be able to give more detail) but it's probably a closer result than you'd get with a graphic EQ. Andre
  25. The Tone controls are boost controls only (no attenuation) with max +15dB, so I guess you ought to be able to give a passable simulation on a PC using a low/high pass parametric equalizer set to the same freq and Q. Andre
