  1. Poweramp does not support multi-channel surround sound, and I think you'll find that any sort of support for 5.1 beyond the normal 48K DVD/BluRay sampling rate is pretty rare. Andre
  2. 704 hasn't been released via the Google beta service, you need to download it manually from here. Andre
  3. Poweramp works on lots of Android device chipsets. The experimental high-res feature does not work on all devices as yet though (which is why it's listed as experimental) Andre
  4. Then please post the full details of your device in the High Res Requests thread. Andre
  5. See the Downloads tab at the top of this page, you can download 703 or 704. Andre
  6. You'll need to either stick with a stable ROM then, or wait for the next PA beta release which should address a lot of the compatibility issues which have cropped up over the 14 months since the previous alpha release. Andre
  7. You don't say which version of PA you are using, but you would need to be using build 704 to stand any chance of high-rez working on Android 7+ Andre
  8. I just upgraded my ancient tablet to a Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 (I got a pretty decent price on it now that the ludicrously expensive Tab S3 has been out a while) and can confirm that build 704 works fine on it, and high-rez is operating fine. The tablet came with Marshmallow, but it received an OTA upgrade to 7.0 during setup so I didn't get a chance to try 704 on Marshmallow, but it's fine on Nougat. Note: I first tried an in-place upgrade over the release build, but that did not work (it kept giving a FC when I tried to start the app) so I uninstalled the release build and clean installed 704 and that worked. Andre
  9. Make sure you are using Poweramp build 704, not 703, and see if that helps. Andre
  10. I did try on my four recent flights, and could not replicate this problem either. They were each fairly short hops though. Do you find the same problem if you put your device into flight mode (overnight for example) and then start Poweramp running? (with or without a reboot after you enable flight mode) Andre
  11. Does the current status in Poweramp Settings > About normally show as Verified? If so, it shouldn't need to look again. Andre
  12. I wish I knew why this keeps happening to some people. Max think some devices or ROMs might not be allowing PA to save the status data correctly, and so it does not survive a reboot and needs to check again afterwards (which of course is a problem with planes where you have to switch off for takeoff/laving). I fly several times a year and have never had a licence issue (mine is a regular Google Play licence key). I'll be taking two flights tomorrow and another two on Friday so I'll check again, but I can never recreate the problem. Andre
  13. I don't know why a stock Galaxy S8 should have this issue, unless there is some issue with saved licence retention methods on this device (did you have to turn your phone off and reboot after takeoff?). Once a licence has been fully verified (within 48 hours or so of first install) it should not need to be checked again. http://support.powerampapp.com/knowledgebase/articles/323557-is-internet-connection-required Andre
  14. So you can select the option from the menu, but it does not enable for you. I'll move this to the high-rez requests thread. Andre
  15. You are using Poweramp build 704 aren't you? Other users have reported their S8 phones as working. (e.g. http://forum.powerampapp.com/index.php?/topic/8736-list-of-android-devices-with-hi-res-audio-support-internal-dac/&page=8#comment-40522 ) Andre
  16. Poweramp is, and will remain for the foreseeable future, an Android app. There is only one developer on this project, and his hands are completely full with Android development. Sadly that's what you get for moving to the 'dark side'. Andre
  17. It may not fix your problem, but it's worth checking to make sure you are using Poweramp build 704 which has some tweaks for Nougat ROMs. Andre
  18. It means you have uninstall/reinstalled it too many times for what is considered to be 'normal' user activity (perhaps you update ROMs very frequently, or you have it installed on lots of different devices?). Support should be able to reset the count back to zero for you if you explain the problem as you have above though (email Poweramp.maxmpz@gmail.com). Andre
  19. Then please try 704, as that was released specifically for some of the Nougat issues. See the first post in the test-release thread (http://forum.powerampapp.com/index.php?/topic/8810-Poweramp-alpha-build-703704/). Andre
  20. No, it means that the Poweramp ALPHA test build 704 that was released a year ago does not yet support the internal high-rez DAC on that device (or with the particular ROM in use), not that there isn't a DAC there. You are right that for Nougat you should be using Poweramp test build 704 though, which you can find in the Downloads tab at the top of this page. Andre
  21. I know what you mean, I have so many devices in the house that have their own streaming methods - a Sonos speaker in the kitchen, an A/V amp that can play content using wi-fi, Bluetooth or Chomecast, a Kodi box that can stream via bluetooth, a TV that uses (among others) wi-di, Bluetooth headphones and in-car... etc, etc, etc. It'd be lovely if PA could steam seamlessly to any of them, rather than needing to use their own apps. Andre
  22. I keep asking the same (I too listen to a lot of long-format audio material) but so far Max has indicated that he doesn't plan to add much by way of more features until the release version of v3 with its new user interface is complete. Hopefully then he'll be able to look over the feature requests from the past four years and start addressing things that users have asked for. Andre
  23. You don't mention what version of PA you are using? For Nougat you could do with 704 rather than 703. Andre
