I have some questions regarding idea voting. 1. Is there any time limit for voting? 2. What will happen to idea on 3rd or 4th place? 3. Is there any deadline for idea to get implement? 4. All(?) popular ideas will go to "Feature package" eventually? So why we voting? And will there be an addon app we must pay in order to use certain feature package? Thanks

I asked for something similiar here I know it's possible to have more than 4 buttons in notification bar. For example, Musicolet audio player have, believe it or not, 7 buttons in notification bar, and also MX player have option for expanded notification which then shows another two buttons.

This would be nice change. I'm using Poweramp for years and still sometimes get confused with these descriptive text... I've seen you bring this up many times over the last couple of years, but if this simple and easy thing to change has been on waiting for years, and you're moderator, close to maxmp, what hope do we mere mortals have when we've been looking for years for options like smart playlists, a-b repeat, etc... But I guess one day it will be our turn too. I always say that I am aware that only one person works on the PA. I am grateful for the work done so far, but at least if we would get an answer from @maxmp, can we expect in near future options like smart playlist, a-b repeat, change of the descriptive text on repeat button (andre's post above)? @maxmpIs there a plan to add the lyrics tag in the PA edit tags option? A simple field where you would copy/paste the song text. Thanks for hard work.

Yea I agree, that's the reason I'm using old version of MX player. I'll try VLC. Good. So it's possible in newer android versions. I hope one day we'll see additional buttons in PA notification. Until that, does anyone know shell command for next/previous category? @maxmp perhaps? I could run shell command with Xposed Edge app - gesture feature. Thanks

Well, I'm using Android Nougat 7.1 and MX player 1.26.7 (old version). Maybe MX developer removed expandable notification in newer versions. I just checked "Musicolet" audio player and this player has more richer notification. Add to playlist option, like button, rewind & forward, previous/next song, color of notification depends on album artwork... It's awesome. Even has "Upcoming songs" feature. Although it would be nice to have all of these option in PA, I would appreciate just buttons for next/previous category. Check this out.

Hello, In addition to the existing three buttons in notification (previous, pause, next) is it possible to add two more buttons for previous and next category? For example, MX Player have three butons (previous, pause, next) but when you swipe down, then you got two more buttons (rewind & forward) see image in attachment. I think this would be useful feature. Sometimes I can't leave app that I'm using but I would like to change curently playing category. If it's not possible to add these buttons, I would appreciate shell command for changing category. Thanks

I believe I did elaborate my problem in post above. I really don't want to mix my podcasts with my music library. Your approach is okay, but in my case, my music collection consists of two folders. So how do I shuffle play those two folders (in case I want to shuffle "all songs") without using queue list? Making playlist of all songs in these two folders is not an option since is complicated to keep track with every new song I add to my phone. And also I don't like using queue option.

When it comes to podcasts, I'm forced to use different audio player due to this issue. I don't want my music library to be mixed with podcasts. Wish there was an option in category "Streams" for choosing folder, for example, with podcasts. Some sort of smart playlist, separate from main library. There is option "Select Folders" but that's applying for whole library, not just for Streams/Podcasts category. But "black list" could be useful option, and could be applied in multiple scenarios. Also, I have folder with soundtracks which I don't want to mix with my music library but I wanna listen those songs from time to time. So something like separate library would be great.

Thanks Andre. I'll try your approach with new random list though, now you can see why it would be useful to have smart playlist in PA. I could choose music folder as a playlist and everytime I add new songs, random playlist would get updated with new songs. I must keep track did I put recently added songs to that new random playlist or not... Bit complicated but...yeah. Sorry for making little mess out of this topic...

I feel sometimes that PA favorize some artist in my music collection. It sounds ridicilous, maybe it's randomness but it feels odd. When All Songs shuffle session starts, PA often choose same artist, sometimes in a row. Something like "Artist1, Artist2, Artist3, Artist3, Artist4, Artist5, Artist3..." One day one artist gets priority, other day some other artist. Well, I'm not saying that Dj should use PA & phone to mix on live set Dj's often use first sequence of one song and when it comes to drop, they use drop from another song. Like @6b6561said, "zap" could be useful when driving to work or such. Little mix session wouldn't hurt anyone. And if you put nice crossfade effect between songs, and maybe option to PA sometimes random choose XX minutes from song, that would be nice mix.

Well, DJ's do this all the time. Mix first sequence of song with other song. Maybe this feature would be harsh mixing, without order, not so great as DJ's do, but still it would be interesting to hear, especially for edm collection. I said 1min just for example but user can choose duration. Almost every radio edit has first chorus done at 1.30min. I can see benefit of this feature. It depends to opinions. As for shuffle randomization, yes I experimented, tried almost every combination but problem of poor shuffling remains. Maybe I just need to rest from music for a little while

Well, I can see many purposes. Altough I don't see this feature as "must have" but it would be nice to have Personal "Dj mix shuffle" 1. It's cool to have mix of whole music collection, so if you have many genres and you don't know which genre suits you at the momment, you mix all songs and see where journey will take you. 2. If you have long duration songs collection, you can choose to listen only first chorus with this mix feature. 3. I don't know if it's just me but shuffle in PA is pain in the... Many audio players has the same issue. I experimented with "Full random" and "less random" and often I hear same songs over and over again. And I have 3.000 songs. So this "mix thing feature" would come handy. I wouldn't use it everyday but it's nice option to have. Regarding "I just press the >> (or swipe) to move on." Imagine that you drive bicycle or walking (I drive almost everyday, with one earphone in ear, of course ;)) and almost everytime you press ”>> or volume button" because you heard song that played yesterday. It's really painful. So maybe this regard to shuffle issue but I can see myself using this feature often. Although I know this feature will not happen in the near future or ever 🤣

This would be a cool feature in PA. Zap feature in Black Player is ok but 5s is too short so I agree that there need to be setting to set for example, 1 minute or more of each song.

I run rescan from menu in Recently added list. Oh, "Rescan Immediately" option was disabled. I enabled it and now is fine. Thank you

I don't use queue so I doubt that is the problem... But who knows. Anyway, I have this problem: When I add new song while PA running, new song doesn't appear in Recently Added playlist, even if I run rescan. Only option is to restart PA. After that, new song is shown in Recently added list.

Same here. I'm using same bluetooth device as before and this began to happening recently. But it doesn't happening all the time... Though I'm not sure for wire connection. Android 7.1 here.

@flyingdutchman I tried yours "The Other Playlist Manager" and I'm stuck at permission screen. I created "playlist_folder", grant permission for sd card but after that all I got is blank screen. I'm using Android 7.1

@andrewilley said it all. It would be nice to finally have option to edit lyrics tag in PA and also it would be nice to display lyrics over album cover (maybe icon on album art for quick access to lyrics).

Wow @haddy. Respect. You're still waiting even after 12 years. You can thank me for mentioning this topic several times as a perfect example of how long we have to wait to get answer from @maxmp. Altough I'm waiting for smart/dynamic playlist less, at least max answered you 12 years ago while I'm (and people who asked long time ago for this feature) still waiting for his answer

Thanks for responding. Yea, he responded to those topics, but I was more curious about @maxmp opinion about Smart/Dynamic playlist feature. Should we expect that feature or not. As for the A-B repeat, he said 2011 it will maybe implemented in v2.1... But, maybe he forgot. And as for your request, simplification of repeat icon, I agree 100%. That would be great. I always have advanced shuffle on, but once in a while I turn it off and after some time when I want to turn on shuffle I get little confused 🤨 Sorry for maybe going off-topic above. Maybe one suggestion; I saw topic "ToDo list" it's great idea and it should be pinned on top, but topic seems outdated which is shame because it would be a lot easier for people to see all features that pass to todo list and maybe they could vote. That way people wouldnt create similiar requests and also @maxmp would have a better overview of what people want.

Some of us waiting for other feautures like A-B repeat (since 2010), Smart playlist (since 2012) etc. People from time to time request this things but there's no reply from the main developer @maxmp. He leaves us only with hope instead of telling us straight, should we hope, (and when or why not) for asked feauture. It seems for me like he is responding only to minor feature requests. Which is great but we exist too

Well that's my point. I need to change sort to Date added in order to have new added songs on top of the list. That's the reason I would like to have Smart playlist so I wouldnt needed to change sort parameter everytime. I'd like to have nice preview of my music library, recent songs, separate from folder fixed parameters. For that reason I don't see your work-around as suiting. But thanks. Some people mention BPM tag, that would be nice too for Dynamic/Smart playlist. And many other things could be useful with smart playlist feature. I'm sad to hear that but also glad to hear that people frequently ask for Dynamic/Smart playlist. That means there is audience for this feature. Cool! Maybe I'll try this. I contacted developer of PlayerPro and also other audio player developers with questions about improving their sound quality. So far, developer of Musicolet app heard me and he improved equalizer. As far as I know, developers like to hear suggestions, ideas... and some of them reply. Little off-topic but, this section of forum should be valuable to PA development cause people, most of the time, leave great ideas. For example I saw someone asked here about A-B repeat option years ago, and yet there is no implement. Max responded and agreed but nothing so far. It's a shame. I see that he's working hard, maybe doesnt have time, but at least listen to people ideas here. We want strong PA, nothing more. We are grateful for great job so far. Sorry if I' sound little picky but no bad intentions

Thanks. So if I want dynamic playlist of some folder, I should go to folder hierarchy, set sort by "date added to Library" and voila, dynamic playlist? Then if I want to see other regular folder I must set sort by "title" cause that's how i prefer. And everytime I must switch from date added to title sort... You see how that is complicated? Besides, when it comes to dynamic playlist, I prefer list instead of showing subfolders. Anyway, I dont want to be boring but I think you guys understood what I was asking for. And I hope that there is a chance in near future for implementing Dynamic/Smart playlist to PA, cause that would make happy not just me but other users as well. Thanks.

Ok. I tried your app few years ago and I didnt find what I was looking for. In this screenshot of yours I dont see option like "file path - contains". I need only that option so I can make "live" folder playlist. For example "file path - contains = /Rock&Roll/" and all songs from that /Rock&Roll/ folder would appear in that playlist and it would autoupdate with every new song added. That's not my point, but ok. My point is that "smart playlist" is something that best android audio player on market, should have.
