  1. Hello there, Is it possible to add a setting that hides the extension of file based playlists in the library playlist menu? So for example a playlist will show up as "New Playlist" instead of "New Playlist.m3u" in the menu. Thanks in advance. Ted
  2. Even if I change the tag of FLAC or MP3 files and change the genre Poweramp still keeps some of the files with the old one. Other players with the same files show the correct genre see the image clicking on the link. https://drive.google.com/file/d/1l-EiEdGIiQ-Lhyh3tD_yERh2KOmcm1Cv/view?usp=sharing I’m using Poweramp v3 build 853, but I experienced the same problem with the v2 and v3 builds on a Samsung S10e with Android 9 and a Samsung S5 with Android 5.
  3. You could add the Singles category to the library to split the artist's songs, so when it was just one song it would be singles and when it was really an album with more than one song it would be in the albums. In my view it would be more organized.
  4. With disk and other storage space plentiful and cheap, I decided to switch to a lossless audio format for all of my future ripping and downloads, and picked FLAC. (You're welcome to knock my choice if you want, but that's not the reason for this note.) Background info: I'm ripping CDs on a Win 7 machine and uploading to a Samsung Galaxy S3 (for now; the point is to have a file format that I can keep around for years and be able to play on just about any machine, now and in future). The Galaxy S3 is the Poweramp machine that's giving me trouble. I'm running V2.0.9, build 534, in paid mode. I downloaded dBpoweramp to create the FLAC files, ripped a Vivaldi CD, and uploaded to the S3. Poweramp refused to recognize the album or tracks, even though it has no trouble recognizing MP3 albums and displaying them in its library as soon as I transfer them. However, when I located the files in a file browser on the S3 and clicked on a track, the file browser offered to let me open the track in Poweramp (and five other players, of course) so I did, and Poweramp played the track just fine. Also, when I clicked on the Poweramp menu and then on Info/Tags, Poweramp displayed full metadata including the album name that it refuses to bring into its library even after multiple scans and full rescans. After some experimenting around, I discovered that I could get Poweramp to bring my FLAC album into its library list by going to the Android application manager, deleting ALL of Poweramp's data, and re-building my library listing (not the audio files) from scratch. (No, Poweramp's re-scan did NOT work.) You might think that, with one FLAC album now in my library, I wouldn't have the same trouble bringing in another one, but No, a second album didn't incorporate into the library until I did the Android application-lobotomy trick again. So, I can now build and use a library of FLAC albums but only at the cost of re-setting all of my options by hand after every addition. Yucko. One last thing to note: I use the Windows file browser to drag-n-drop the album (directory) from the PC to the S3. When I transfer the MP3 album, it just goes, but when I transfer the FLAC album, it asks me if I want to convert all of the files since my phone won't play FLAC files. (Well, it wouldn't if I didn't have Poweramp, but the transfer facility is kind of dumb.) So I say No, Don't Convert and it (presumably) transfers all of the files intact. The Poweramp metadata display confirms that they're FLACs, but if the transfer facility is also doing something to set the album up for cataloguing, it would be happening for the MP3s but not for the FLACs. So - Have I discovered a bug, or did I overlook some simple setting that would let those FLAC albums slither into my library without getting hung up? Is anyone else out there using FLAC files with a Galaxy S3, with or without trouble? Suggestions appreciated. Thanks! -- Glimmersdad
  5. I have been requesting since long time to enable mouse scroll support in library view mode. Actually it was working in alpha stages of the app. Mouse scroll work well in other menus such as settings. I use Poweramp music player on my Android tv box, that's why the feature is requested. Please enable/implement this in future releases. This is my humble request @maxmp
  6. I have a lot of lower quality audio files (.MP3) saved into playlists and recently begun downloading higher quality versions (.FLAC). It's my understanding that playlists are save entries as the file's directory. Example (2 entries): /storage/3234-6463/Music/Kanye West - The Life Of Pablo/17 Facts (Charlie Heat Version).mp3 /storage/3234-6463/DatPiff/mixtapes/m6eaa8aa/11773275.mp3 What I was hoping for was a way to change the first playlist entry to a different file: /storage/3234-6463/Music/Kanye West - The Life Of Pablo [Flac]/Kanye West - The Life Of Pablo/18 Facts (Charlie Heat Version).flac And to do that to all my playlists automatically as it would take me forever to do it myself (I have 877 playlists). Usually I'd just rename the better quality file as the exact same as my lower quality version and replace the low quality file, and adjust the metadata if necessary (album artist, etc.) to avoid fixing playlists. But I can't do that if the file extension is different. Thank you.
  7. Hi there, This is what I'm really missing in Poweramp: An option to remember the last library position. Don't know if this already works for smartphone, but everytime my car head unit was off, the library starts from the first position (alphabetically or whatever option is selected) I wish it would jump right back to the last position that was selected before I turned off the head unit. This already works fine for playback resume - why not for library position? Thank you! Lucky
  8. Hello Guys, I use Poweramp since my first smartphone (when Nexus 4 was released). Meanwhile I have ~7000 tracks on my phone, often listen to it via a Sony WH-1000XM2 BL-earphones. The quality with the LDAC codec is awesome. But my problem: I order my tracks in playlists in iTunes, copy the folder-structure to my sd card and export the iTunes playlists and change the file paths. I have 100 playlists, so it's pretty hard to find a certain playlist. I think playlist folders would be a simple and nice improvement like Spotify. Does anyone have another idea how to sort my playlists? Export every playlist in a individually folder takes too long. Cheers Tim
  9. I actually came across this accidentally, but thought it would be cool if there was an option to view the visualizer as the background of the all songs portion of the library. https://m.imgur.com/a/Fz7naXF
  10. Hi there! It would be nice if we could select multiple files in the library and edit their metadata in a single operation. Thanks! PS. Awesome product btw :)
  11. Hello Poweramp team, The new UI for V3 is really nice, but it is missing a feature from V2. When the song or artist/album names are too long, the V3 interface cuts them off instead of scrolling the name (as in V2). Please consider adding name scrolling as an option for the library and main ui interfaces. Thanks.
  12. I'd like to see an option to jump to a specific letter in a given category or list instead of the a-z scroll bar. This would mimic how lists function in android auto.
  13. I've noticed that some albums would have many different album arts within the album. Is it possible to have 1 standard art for the entire album? Also some albums are split, even though the tags have the same album name.
  14. Please add recently played/last played folder in the library. It can save some time when you want to listen from the last songs you've listend to.
  15. Why Poweramp doesn't offer korean index in library? Any other music player applications offer it and it does not seem to be complicate feature. I really want to help you if developers have trouble with language problem. Even basic music app of iPhone offers korean index together with alphabetical index. (We got many korean songs with english titles) I attached the picture of the other app.
  16. I'm sorry if this bug was here already. So, I not see in library some of music files which must to be there. But in file manager I can see them and can play through Poweramp v3. Xiaomi Redmi Note 5, screenshot of system version in folder below You can see screenshots by URL right here. As you see, in file manager show 15 files, but Poweramp show only 9. I hope this information will be useful.
  17. I figured out, that beyond a certain folder size, Poweramp cannot detect the music files. Resulting in incomplete library, with many songs missing. (The Search function was malfunctioning too.) The maximum folder size seems to be somewher between 17GB and 41GB. I had this problem with a 41GB music folder on SD memory card. In the 41GB folder, the files were organized in subfolders by artist. So the subfolders were not so big, but still caused problem. I managed to solve all problems, when i split this big folder into 3 smaller folders, and put them into the root directory of the SD card. Finding a solution took me a year. I didn't know what causes the problem. I thought the app is buggy, and i waited for a fix. I was ready to ditch the app. If the issue was really caused by too big folder size, it would be useful to get a warning message in the app, when users are trying to add an oversized folder.
  18. It's a request I've done already a few time ago, but feeling like it was probably lost on the request sea, I'm doing it again. Basically, it's a list view for library like on V3 build 790. This mode for some reason only appears on that version, no other V2 or V3 has it, and I do really miss that library view mode... This is the same screenshot for that other request. As it's said, for some reason, the only version of Poweramp that it ever shows is the V3 build 790.
  19. So, I've said about this here and there already but I decided to make a topic here on the bug reports. Basically, Poweramp doesn't seem to care about WavPack files (.wv) with higher sample rate than 88,2kHz. I didn't tested this on Poweramp V2 yet but, the V3 betas/alphas, since the 790, for some reason doesn't add WavPack files to the library... But Poweramp can play them. If you go to where the file is with a file explorer, and try to open it with Poweramp (sometimes it can take more than one or two tries), Poweramp play the file normally, and show all the info, like tags, the file type, the profile, data rate... But as soon as the song ends, the player just refreshes itself and go to the "all songs" tab, and the WavPack file vanishes again. Something weird I noticed is, I have one album that is on WavPack+cue, and it is 32-192. That single album, Poweramp adds to the library. After this I tried tons of different programs, configs, profiles, different ways to make WavPack files, and as soon as the sample rate go beyond 88,2kHz, the file is not added to the library. It also seems to work with embedded cue sheet files, but as was said, as soon as this file is beyond 88,2kHz, it's not added to the library anymore. Now about the DSD part, one thing is: Poweramp seems to work wonderfully with up to DSD128, beyond that, like DSD256 for example, it's not added to the library and if you try opening it with some external app, it also don't work. Not really a bug report I think, more of some compatibility issue maybe. The other thing is: since WavPack 5, it got the ability of compressing and carrying DSD files on a lossless (and even reversible) way, which seems to work normally with players that supports this feature. And, yeah, Poweramp doesn't support WavPack files which carries a DSD stream on it. This is more of a report for a, maybe future update to add support to it, not exactly a bug report. But with the very nice hi-res capabilities of Poweramp as a player, it's indeed something to consider. LG G7 ThinkQ, Stock LG UI ROM with Android 8.0.0, no root. By the time of this comment, build 805 of Poweramp is used.
  20. Files with the extension aac are not scanned by the library scanner. When loading those files from a file manager they play fine in Poweramp. Poweramp v2.0 does the job quite well. 08 - Midnight Juggernauts - Scorpius.aac Tested in build 799 and earlier.
  21. I just purchased Poweramp and am on beta-build-796-play. I noticed a really annoying bug. I often download music to my internal storage (music folder) and then copy those files to my music folder on my external SD card. It's just sometimes, the new tracks just flat out won't show up. I have triple-checked that those folders are ticked properly. Another curious case is I move the music to another subfolder in the same music folder, it suddenly recognizes the tracks, from there on I can again move the files over to the original location and it works fine most of the time. Example for clarity - Let's say I downloaded a track to internal/music/artist/, then moved artist folder (yes the whole artist folder) to external/music/rock/ so that the tracks are in external/music/rock/artist. I start up Poweramp, scan library but the track doesn't appear. I then move the artist folder to external/music and voila, the track shows up like it should. Now I can move the folder back to external/music/rock/ and it will still work (most times at least). I have tried some common things I could think of including Full Rescan but even that doesn't fix it. Weird. Hope I can find some solution to this problem. EDIT: I tested out various scenarios and this bug seems to occur when when the file is located in external SD card. Basically the first time you copy a file to your SD card the scanner doesn't see the file, but if you move the file around in the SD card then the scanner starts working as it should. Hope this helps E2: Apparently you don't need to necessarily move the files actually, just renaming the files or containing folder does the job. Cheers!
  22. When I'm in a Library folder like Albums or Folders there are two buttons, play in shuffle and play and I don't know if this is a bug or if this could be a feature, but what about letting it play in order if I press play and when I click shuffle it should play the selected in shuffle mode. For now it plays tracks in random mode, if this was my last mode, after I clicked on the play Icon. The screenshot shows the Icons I am talking about, hope it's clear enough what I meant. I'm using the beta-build-795-play (full Version) on my Huawei P20 Pro Android v8.1.0
  23. AVRCP Media Browsing would be great for v3, other players in the play store already have this support for cars and it's really useful as you can pick songs directly from the car stereo system without touching the phone. A good example is playerpro that has full Media Browsing support.
  24. Hi Max. I think it's better to separate the artist and genre tags by the delimiter characters ";" and "/". For example Artists Tags:Artist 1; Artist 2 Shown as "Artist 1 Artist 2" with the current method but should shown separate. So if you search by Artist 1 to find all the track that he has and not the "Artist 1 Artist 2" tracks. The same for the genres. I edit all my tracks (over 7000) one by one with all the tags organized with MusicBee Music Player on PC. If you want you can try it to see what I mean with the tags separately recognized. Also is the default separation method for Windows file manager and every major windows music music manager. I own almost every major music player on the android universe and none do this right. For obvious reasons I use Poweramp for years now and I just can't switch it because is the best android music player out there. Now with the new v3 build became the best of the best. Worth every dollar I spent because (actually I buy it twice from play store and from your site to support the development). I really hope to take my recommendation as a future library organization method because I think is the best way to organize the tracks without compromises. Thank's in regards.
