What is Volume levels and what can it do?

I know only the easy settings like custom skins, replay gain and the list can continue, but about volume levels and some complicated settings, im afraid to touch them and change them because i can broke something and I don t want to do that, so please, I need an explication about this setting, if I can change it, it affects the sound quality and the loudness, what s the limit etc.

Volume Settings just defines the number of individual increment steps there are from silent to max volume The bigger the range, the finer the control you have. It doesn't change the actual total listening level, just the amount of steps you get by pressing the up/down buttons.
