Lockscreen stops Poweramp

Reboot phone

1. Start Poweramp and play music

2. Press powerbutton to lock screen- it works fine

3. Press powerbutton to unlock screen- it works fine

Wait three days or so

1. Start Poweramp and play music

2. Press powerbutton to close screen- Poweramp stops playing

(I can pull down the notification shade and  hit the Poweramp play button without unlocking the phone, or, if a bluetooth is connected, use that to restart)

3. press powerbutton to unlock phone, on unlocking the phone, Poweramp stops

 

Reboot phone- it all works as expected.

If Poweramp is not being force-closed when this issue occurs (which would clear the log) could you use PA Settings=>Get Support=>Send Log to email a logfile to gpmaxmpz@gmail.com. Also send a message to @maxmp to say where you've sent it from so he can watch for it. 

I'm assuming nothing else is sending commands by the way, which you could check by looking at PA Settings=>Headset/Bluetooth=>Last Processed Commands after the issue occurs. But it does sound very much like some over-zealous optimisation happening.

Andre, thanks for checking, I looked and it's default.

Sprille I tried that and I thought it worked but then just back to cutting off.

Mpmax I tried the app but it was just to ensure that the battery settings were not cutting the app off. It showed that it was running at 100%.

 

With some other checking I realized that none of the other music apps on my phone have the same problem: Pocket cast, Spotify, Samsung music player, VLC player, all of them work.

 

I don't know if it's relevant to note that Poweramp shuts off when I unlock the phone also.

I'm having a very similar issue on my Sony Xperia 10 mk III. 
The difference is that my Poweramp doesnt fully stop but pauses for a split second and then resumes playback on minimizing/maximizing or screen turning off/on.
I have done everything I can in regards to power management and it didn't help the issue.
Now an interesting thing is that I have two sets of bluetooth headsets, and on one runs without an issue. The problem just appears on the other one. The thing is, the headset that has no issues is an older model only capable of AptX support. The one with issues supports AptX Adaptive. So I tried developer options on my phone and forced the headset with issues to use Aptx instead of Aptx Adaptive, and the issue vanished...
So perhaps it has something to do with 24bit transmission? (old AptX uses 16bit)

@Corax your device/firmware probably temporarily puts Poweramp to paused state and that causes audio artifact. If there is large enough buffer, that can be unnoticed, so that why it depends on output type/codec. I would start with adding Poweramp to the background exceptions list, as those background "optimizations" do 2 things: kill apps if they are considered not worthy for the background, or throttle cpu for them to a very low value, so audio can stutter.

Just putting my 2 cents worth in..

I had a similar issue here, and found the last command helped solve the issue.

This is the solution. @maxmp every time I come back to this app (which is awesome BTW) that is the one problem that plagues me. Something seems wrong if this is what fixes the issue, as it's not really related to the actual issue as far as I can tell. Obviously I'll be exporting my settings this time.

Mine was already disabled and still stops 30 seconds after I start the  play button.

I've followed every suggestion. Does not help.

This started about 5 days ago. Nothing was added to my phone. 

Nothing was changed.

So I have to assume it's the app.

I on FM radio here. And I will  certainly reveal this if Poweramp doesn't give me a solution. This a paid FILL version. I was the one who suggested this app to my listeners. I feel responsible. 

I have used other media apps and they do not have this problem! 

So am inquiring and expect an answer to this issue from power amp. D*****w@gmail.com.

If nothing changed, then why assume it is the app? I am not saying it is or isn't a setting. But phones, apps, and software don't just change what they do without something else happening.

Why do you have to assume it's the app if neither the app or anything else has changed. Are you saying that nothing at all has ever been updated via the Play Store?

Oh, and a bit of into about your device, its Android version, chosen output method, etc would help too. As a new member here for about an hour, your entire first post basically only says that for you, playback stops after 30 seconds. You don't even say if this coincides with the screen going to sleep?

You also mention that lots of people have apparently bought Poweramp based on your recommendation. Are they all having the same issue, and if so is there anything that all your systems have in common?
