andrewilley
@john madsen Glad you've managed to find your music folders now! As far as levels go, Poweramp does not currently feature an 'on the fly' dynamic volume adjustment system (Normalise / AGC / etc) but it does support something called ReplayGain. This method uses an embedded piece of matadata within the audio file itself that tells the player the maximum peak level that exists anywhere within the music. When PA begins to play any suitably tagged file, it can adjust (increase or decrease) the preamp gain for that whole track so the peak level is the same as for all the others. See PA Settings > Audio > Replay Gain to activate this feature, where you can also adjust the target level that you wish it to aim for. The default is set to play everything at somewhat lower than 100% digital maximum, to allow headroom for EQ adjustments etc. If your music is not pre-tagged with ReplayGain data, a program like foobar2000 on a PC can scan all your files and update the metadata for you easily enough. See https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ReplayGain for more info. Andre
john madsen
Thank you Andre Foobar is doing a good job more or less like the normalize function in Neutron, which is why I am trying out Poweramp.
Electric Genie
Having the same problem Galaxy s21 ultra. Does not see any of the 2,000 songs on my phone. Really disappointing.
andrewilley
@Electric Genie You don't provide any information such as ROM version of where you music is stored (presumably internal memory on recent Samsung S series). What do you see in PA Settings > Library > Music Folders? Are you able to select the storage folder where your music files are kept? You will most likely need to grant access to it on Android 11/12. If Android 12, please try using PA build 915, as that has been optimised to cope with some of the problems Google has been causing with its storage access changes. What is the "same exact problem" you are having?
andrewilley
@ortizchris11 Trial and Licenced versions are the same when it comes to selecting and granting access to your Music Folders - the only restriction with the trial version is a time limit. masmusic
I keep getting the message! Doesn't seem like anything to me!
andrewilley
@masmusic That means that whatever category you are trying to open is empty, no content (such as song files for example) has been found. What were you trying to do at the time? Andre
