Thanks before trying no more.

What repeat icon.  Where? There is not one bringing up either the Playlist listing, nor the play list, nor in the song screen.  Is this not user friendly, lack of clear indicators on purpose?

It is on the main screen UI, right above the play buttons. Second from the right  just pressing it turns it on or off. Long press shows different modes available.

The main 'Repeat' and 'Shuffle' buttons are on the Player screen, which is pretty common practice amongst most music player software. They are located in the row of playback controls just under the main artwork:

To stop playback at the end of the currently chosen category (e.g. at the end of an Album, a Folder, or a Playlist) just tap to cycle the Repeat mode to 'Off'.

For further help in using the app, long-press on any of that row to see a list of choices. From left-to-right, the icons are: Visualizations ; Sleep Timer ; (track count info) ; Repeat ; Shuffle. You can also use the 'Help' function in the main three-line menu at the bottom-right to show popup hints about each control.

For more general info on Repeat and Shuffle modes - they are pretty powerful, but of course that can increase the learning curve for using them - please see the FAQ:

@maxmp This sort of question does highlight again that new users often don't fully understand the historical nuances of the terminology of the Repeat icon, especially in its relation to Songs or Categories.

I'd still love for the wording to be updated to more meaningful and intuitive terms, so the existing set of options for that icon (especially Advance Category) could become a much more logical sequence of:

Play One Song | Play Category | Play All CategoriesRepeat One Song | Repeat Category | Repeat All Categories

It's purely a wording change, very little extra to code apart from the one tiny addition of supporting stopping after all songs have been played (which currently only happens in 'All Songs' mode) instead of repeating back to the start again. That would allow for both 'Play All Categories' and 'Repeat All Categories' to be offered, which seems to make sense semantically.
