  1. The full rescan is a bit iffy, what does it really scan and recreate? It's a bit unclear what it does and doesn't do. One example is "Albums", albums are not recreated so at least that's not modified.
  2. I think this is the same thing as requested in the old "Discord app?" request.
  3. @Azul you can hide the Artist/Album that repeats on every line in the Album view by checking the "Show titles only" in the list options.
  4. Thanks @andrewilley for the hints about MP3Tag customization!
  5. I didn't think about the possible plugins, as that means that there is another source of lyrics. LRC -> tags -> plugin -> app / search I'm more and more in favor of my proposal of: Short tap - this would be the automatic LRC -> tags -> plugin -> app / search Long tap - one page with available sources and the user selects what to display
  6. I would suggest that the "in menu" and "on cover" button would work in the same way, otherwise it will be quite confusing with two buttons that works in different ways and some of the settings is for the new button and some for the old. IMHO the actions should be: Short tap - Show embedded lyrics / LRC, if not found then open the user preferred lyrics app Long tap - Open up the "Open lyrics page" which would allow the user to select what lyrics to show or which app to launch.
  7. The lyrics button on the main screen/cover behaves differently than the three button menu -> lyrics. Long tapping the three button menu -> lyrics button brings up the old lyrics interface with the SEARCH button Long tapping the main screen/cover menu button acts the same way as a short tap and just open the lyrics page. I where expecting a long tap to take me to the "OPEN EXTERNAL LYRICS" page. EDIT: And the behavior is also dependent on if the file has embedded lyrics or not.
  8. Hi, Thank you @maxmp for the new lyrics interface! This resolved my old request to automatically refresh the lyrics on track change. It's also great that fond size can be changed by pinching the window. Two things that popped up immediately on my wish list: Priority order of local lyrics Which lyrics is shown if there is embedded USLT and SYLT lyrics? And what if there is also a LRC file? Possibility to launch the external lyrics app Possibility to launch the external lyrics app even if there are local lyrics available. Maybe add it as an option in the "three dot" menu? Reason for this is that I like to view some lyrics in Genius where you get some explanations to the wording and context of the song even if I have embedded lyrics. EDIT: Cool! Found the "Long press on lyrics item" in the lyrics setting menu! This works from the "three dot" menu but not from the lyrics button on the album cover. "No lyrics found"/(OPEN LYRICS APP) page Is there an option to bypass this page and directly launch the pre-selected lyrics app? It would be great to be able to change lyrics provided on this page, maybe replace "Lyrics can be searched..." by the name of the chosen lyrics app, tapping on the app could bring up a selection box for the lyrics app? This would allow the user to quickly switch between lyrics apps and google
  9. This issue is resolved in 948 with the new lyrics interface.
  10. Thanks! I'm eager to check out the new lyrics interface!
  11. I know it's late to raise this topic as @maxmp already said that there is a major change for lyrics in the next beta, but still raising this for awareness in case it's also in the beta that is being worked on. PA version 945. I have Genius set as my preferred lyrics app and PA is for some reason pulling up MusiXmatch when I go to lyrics. This is something that has changed recently as it used to pull up Genius.
  12. Cool! I have been waiting for this for a very long time!
  13. I do believe the OP meant Poweramp playlists when he wrote system playlists.
  14. What might make your life easier is https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=dk.tacit.android.foldersync.lite which would allow a sync over google drive. Setup a folder pair between the export folder on your source phone and google drive, and one job on the destination phone to load the files from google drive on your phone. And I would also consider to live with the file based m3u8's and forget about importing to Poweramp playlists. Import to Poweramp can be done quite quickly, long press on the m3u8 and then either create a new playlist or add the tracks to an existing playlist. The workflow would be something like: Source device: Export playlists from Poweramp Source device: Launch FolderSync and synchronize export to google drive (2-3 clicks in the app) Destination device: Launch FolderSync and synchronize export from google drive (2-3 clicks in the app) Destination device: Launch Poweramp, go to playlists, long click on the playlist and either add to existing playlist or create new Using only m3u8's: Source device: Launch FolderSync and synchronize export to google drive (2-3 clicks in the app) Destination device: Launch FolderSync and synchronize export from google drive (2-3 clicks in the app)
  15. @andrewilleyI agree with every single word! A concept should never be stolen, but it can indeed be used for inspiration. Paths is a bad name, as it has a well established meaning and reuse of names will just cause a lot of confusion. Searches/Shortcuts/Filters/Dynamic.../... I can come up with a bunch of names, but they are all a bit problematic so that would require a bit of thinking. I also wrote that it should be like any other category in the main Categories view. This would open up for a new library view without touching the existing ones, touching the old established categories would probably cause an outcry among the users.
  16. The main interface of "Path" would be a list of the users existing paths, a little like playlists. My list would be something like: Albums - Recently added Albums - Shuffle Album Artists ... The "Path" interface described in one of my earlier posts above could also quite logically facilitate a filter by adding one more button. Group by: None, Album, Artist, Album Artist, Composer, Genre... Filter: Would be a list of the groups from the "Group by" action. Sort by: None, Alphabetical, Release Date, Last Played.... [reverse] A setup like this makes it possible for a user to mimic almost if not all of the existing categories.
  17. I guess "Paths" could be added as another Category in the Library, that way it wouldn't mess up the current implementation of Categories. Replacing all existing Categories with "Paths" would be a major change to the UX.
  18. I love the "Paths" used in SongOwl, the music player that I use on my iPhone, the Path is basically a Category. A new Path is typically starting from the all songs list, but it can also start from something like Artist or year and it gives you two options at this level: Group by: None, Album, Artist, Album Artist, Composer, Genre... Sort by: None, Alphabetical, Release Date, Last Played.... Do your 1st level "grouping and sorting" which gives you a second level with basically the same grouping and sorting selections. Some examples of my Paths: "Album Artists" Level 1: Group by "Album Artist", sort by "Alphabetical" Level 2: Group by "Album", sort by "Release Date" "Albums - Recently Added" Level 1: Group by "Album", sort by "Date Added" "Albums - Shuffle" Level 1: Group by "Album", sort by "Random" Various Artists (This is a path starting from the artist "Various Artists" Level 1: Group by "Album", sort by "Album" The Path setup is driven by two buttons up on the right in the Library view, left one is for the grouping and the right hand one is for sorting.
  19. The problem is compilation artist where each track might have a different performer. I just checked my library and I have 330 different album artists and 1060 track artists. So I can see how it would make sense to hide track artists with less than X tracks. I personally never use the Artist category as it's a never ending list, Album Artist is more usable for me.
  20. Maybe even an option to use Googles default web receiver, that would eliminate the need of Max hosting a custom web receiver. https://developers.google.com/cast/docs/web_receiver @MotleyG the good old Chromecast audio was a surprisingly good streamer, as it has a optical out and you can hand over the PCM stream to your amplifier and let it handle the D/A part. I have a DLNA server where I have flac images of CD and use Hi-Fi Cast to cast the images to the CA. This gives the same audio quality as a CD player with optical out.
  21. It's a darn cold day somewhere... something that's sort of handled better in the iTunes world... This makes somehow some sense, but on the other hand not... I spent some more quality time on this topic, it's enough to: Tweak the tags on the PC Remove the files on the phone Copy the updated files to the phone Luckily it's on just one of my devices that I care about cosmetics, would be a real pain to do this on all three devices that I use at the moment.
  22. I re-tagged a couple of albums on my PC to correct the capitalization of the album titles, as an example U2's "Songs Of Experience" was re-tagged as "Songs of Experience" and all tracks synchronized to my phone. I would have expected Poweramp to create a new "of" album and drop the "Of" as there are no tracks left in it. Obviously the album title isn't case sensitive as this didn't happen. Next I run a full re-scan expecting that the "album" would be deleted and created as a new album but to no avail. The following steps resolved the issues: Moved the album folder out of the music file hierarchy Full Rescan (Not sure if this step is required) Moved the album folder back into the music file hierarchy The problem is that the album name in Poweramp wasn't updated with the correct capitalization until the tracks where removed and added back to the library.
  23. Just a guess... mpeg4 used to write the metadata at the end of the file, which might have lead to Poweramp indexing the file before the whole file has been copied to the phone. If this is the case, then the Poweramp meta data would be missing the data and this would be resolved by a full rescan. @Stuart Brucecould you share a screen shot of how the meta data looks in Poweramp on your phone?
  24. Let's hope that @maxmp implements this when he gets around to implement the planned Replay Gain scanner mentioned in the BPM thread.
  25. Can you describe how you add the albums to your memory card? Do you unmount the card and use a card reader?
