  1. Latest addition and first time I hear the album...
  2. Couldn't it be an option to trigger "live" search on 2nd letter but that a "manual" search would be done when the user hits return?
  3. +1 this has been requested a couple of times in the past and it's still on the wish list. Please make the "take name from stream" optional.
  4. Install the trial first, and once that's done then install the Full version unlocker. Unlocker only unlocks the trial version.
  5. It's a security improvement from Google, this is supposed to make it harder to install "stealth" software on telephones. You can check the license status in Poweramp, go to Settings -> About and you can uninstall the license app ones PA shows as licensed with license stored.
  6. At some point I where also frantically waving my arms wishing for support for synced lyrics, but things change, these days I use primarily genius.com for lyrics when I want lyrics. I do have some wishes and suggestions, but I don't se any reason to raise those until Max dives into the lyrics part of the app.
  7. Being picky... Poweramp is able to display mp3 USLT (unsynchronized) tags, SYLT (synchronized) is not displayed.
  8. I think the DJ community might also be interested in BPM.
  9. I have TBPM set for all tracks in my library... and I just realized that I have basically never used it... I have created some playlists for running, tracks at a particular BPM, but this was done in excel... filtered out tracks with the right BPM and then picked tracks for the playlists. (One time effort, to lazy to create new lists) I think that some versions of Samsungs default players use BPM and this let's you pick "mood" based on tempo. At the moment TBPM isn't at all visible in the GUI... logical steps would be to first add TBPM to the Poweramp internal DB and display the value on the tags information page. Once this is open, then the can of worms is opened and there will be requests for BPM category, sort on category...
  10. Playlists and playlist backups works just as expected in Poweramp. A .m3u8 is just a list of filenames including path, telling the music player where it can find the music files. Poweramp does a good job at importing playlists as long as you have the same directory structure within your music folder. I don't really understand what problem you are facing.
  11. It can take surprisingly long before a new version is available from google play even if the developer releases the package in google play and on the site at the same time. You can side load the latest version from https://forum.powerampapp.com/files/category/2-Poweramp-v3-latest-releases/ This will not mess up your licenses or future updates through play store. I normally wait for updates to be pushed over google play, but sometimes if there is some fixes or features that I'm eager to get, then I will side load.
  12. It's not that bad as long as you don't plan on update your playlists daily... I see my playlists in Poweramp as the masters and I copy those across to my iPhone through iTunes on Windows a couple of times a year. The key is that you have to configure iTunes so that it uses your file hierarchy and doesn't try to do it's own magic... so basically you have the same hierarchy for the files in the same place in iTunes, Windows and Android. (my iTunes is only allowed to see files on a read-only disc share, as I don't trust that it wouldn't get creative and make it's own updates. Same goes for windows media player which can also be creative). There are two settings in iTunes to tweak: Edit -> Preferences -> Advanced Uncheck "Keep iTunes Media folder organized" and "Copy files to iTunes Media folder". This should prevent iTunes from making a copy of the music files on your PC into it's own structure and it should also prevent it from "organizing" it for you. After this, remove all music from iTunes and add back your music. This should give you an iTunes that uses your file structure. What you must do on importing your playlists to iTunes is to open them in a text editor and do a "search&replace" where you replace the beginning of the Android file path with the PC path and replace forward- with back-slash. ( "/" -> "\").
  13. I think the fallback would help a lot of people, I where also asking for this a long time ago, but I'm happy that I took the time and fixed my tags in the same way as Andre. It takes time to do it but see it as a one-time investment. Luckily I had my music organized in a neat hierarchy and used Folder view for years. Nowadays I'm basically only using AlbumArtist as I normally listen to albums or search if I'm looking for some particular track. Personally I'm glad that there isn't such an fallback as that forced me to fix my tags and that has been a good thing as my library is now clean and has worked without issues on any tested player on iOS, Android, Windows, UPNP...
  14. I'm still on my 1001 odyssey, this collage is back from when I hit 100 albums... what makes this a slow ordeal is that I insist on owning the albums, it's fun to rummage through piles of discs in second hand shops and pick up "new" discs. I'm not only picking up discs on this lists, I guess max one out of five purchases are from the 1001 list. Process would be much faster with Spotify, but picking the discs one by one makes me listen more carefully to it than picking them in Spotify. Doing it by Spotify would most likely be like listening to the radio with only your left ear and not concentrating.
  15. Cool! That was quick! Thanks @maxmp
  16. Would it be possible to add device rows to the cast menu? I have five chromecasts and it's a bit annoying to have to scroll in the list to get to the last ones.
  17. The new "Search Track Title Only" in build 922 fixed the issue for "All songs", which was the bigger of the two issues for me. The issue is still there for "Albums" but that's not such a big problem, at least for me. I would say that doing this as an option was a bit of overkill, but good if there is someone out there who likes the old way. Anyway, a very BIG thank you for fixing the "All songs" search! This really made my day! Thank you @maxmp!
  18. @maxmp @andrewilley 100% correctly understood. So it's just the "Albums" and "All songs" search match that must be fixed, everything else is perfect as it's. "Albums" search category should only return album titles that match search string. "All songs" search category should only return song titles that match search string.
  19. I need to work on my presentation skills! 🙂 It's confirmed, you got it. Let's just hope that this gets fixed and I can't imagine that this would take much effort to fix.
  20. Bumping this old bug hoping that @maxmp would have time to have a look at this after the huge effort to bring PA to the required SDK.
  21. Stream to UPNP/DLNA devices is something requested every now and then in the forum and I start to believe that it will not happen. And I do understand the developer very well as my experience with UPNP renderers is that they are a bit fiddly what it comes to following the standards, so it would require quite a bit of work to get a stable stack in place unless there is a good supported library out there that could handle this. I was one of the guys holding my breath hoping for UPNP support as I had several UPNP renderers and I must say that luckily I gave up on those and went for Chromecast Audio and have never looked back since. What most people miss is that the CCA has optical out, so you can plug it into a optical in port on your receiver and the stream will be digital all the way to your receiver. The bad thing is that the CCA's are a bit hard to find as they are no longer sold, but you can find them second hand... other option is to get a Chromecast and put an HDMI->Toslink adapter on it.
  22. I have always ripped my CD's into both mp3's and single track flac+cue. The flac has merely been a backup of the disc and never used as such and hasn't really gotten any real attention. I have now started to use them in streaming to my stereo as there I can hear the difference, but unfortunately it's not really structured... tagging OCD hit me bad... Hell of a lot of fun to copy out missing Album Art files from the mp3 hierarchy, rename all flac and companion files according to my naming convention, embed cue and jpg for 650 CD images... It really helps doing this on a Linux system as a big chunk is scripted but still quite a lot of copy/paste/typing and waiting.
  23. @flyingdutchman that will not do. What I and @vext01 is asking for is a shuffled list of albums that is easy to refresh. Hit shuffle, get a new list of random albums and then pick one of them to listen to. So what we ask for is "Album view - sort order shuffled" and a way to reshuffle the view. It's in place for tracks, you can set Sort Order to "By Shuffle Order" and re-shuffle by long pressing the shuffle button.
