  1. @andrewilley I'm good, I'm on the same opinion as you are, there's specific apps out there for tag editing purposes. That's a nice collection you got there, andre. I did a serious overkill recently by buying a 1tb micro sd card for my collection. My whole music collection barely hits the 210gb mark, but I do collect music videos as well. All my data hits a whopping 570gb occupied space, leaving 160gb to spare. I just did a calculation, if I would want to fill that whole space with just music, let's say with an average of 470mb / album, I could store ~2000 cd albums, all ripped in 16/44.1 flac. Back in the day when 3.5" floppy disks was a thing, 30 years later now you can put 2000 CD's in your pocket. Isn't that amazing? 🙂the-universe-tim-and-eric-mind-blown.gif.24fe1f67ae8202e3c89d75a5935754a4.gif

  2. I'm basically never using a pc for any of my music stuff, I keep my backups on multiple external ssd's which I can plug in straight to my phone to do it so, and my whole music collection is on the phone. It makes sense because I carry it with me erywhere, right. Even for doing replaygain tagging I use foobar2000 android version, it can do the exact same thing as the windows version, except it's a lot faster because my pc is, well... like 15 years old. Not really a work horse, i just watch youtube, movies and stuff on it. So I do everything I can straight on the phone.

  3. @gorman You can do manual editing in the songs tab for each song, or edit whole albums, add album covers for the whole album (if they have the album tag, so the app knows there's 13 songs in the album, for example) or do manual editing for each individual song in the folders tab and yes, you can do full auto mode as well. I personally use to edit whole albums in one go. I know it's a bit fiddly but I personally love it. It makes tagging a lot easier for me.

  4. @andrewilley I have no clue either but I'm sure no one calling himself a DJ is using an android phone to have fun, let alone performing in front of people. Nowadays you can buy good enough quality musical equipments for cheap, even if you just started out recently, it's better than any software would be. You actually LEARNING the thing, not using software. It blows my mind actually that if you think about it, you can get good quality instruments for the cheap, for example you can buy a Squier precision bass by Fender for like $350. That's amazing.

  5. It's not about taking sides, it is common sense and the fact that no one ever asked for any of your suggestions. It's not a DJ software, and it will never be, again it's a music player meant to play back local music files. If you want to use DJ softwares on your android device, (It still don't make sense to me why would anyone want to do that if he takes it serious what he does) there's edjing for android, Virtual DJ for PC, and I'm pretty sure there's a bunch more to choose from. Otherwhise, you can get a cheap DJ set like numark for example, or use sowftware on pc. That " I'm running my shows on a phone" thing is ridiculous, it's like a guitarist saying he's playing a cardboard guitar with thread strings on it. What kind of musician he is then?

Users want special things in Poweramp.

I bet many of our user base would want any gimmick ruining the player's original intention, to play back local music as good as possible, unless it serves the purpose of making the app better in a non-gimmicky way, as @MotleyG said.

There are many missing things like given below and work on these.

Basically none of that are important to anyone other than you.

Peoples use Poweramp for DJ because there is simplified and Advanced Playing methods so work on Music's Experience with an advanced generated AI features.

That's the most ridiculous thing I've ever read on this forum, actual DJ's using professional DJ equipments, not an android phone.

There is need of browser inbuilt in Poweramp for playing songs online too

No one ever asked for that because it's not a streaming service, nor an app on which you can browse your facebook feed, it's a music player that plays back your local music.

no time or resources for this work then quit and don't give updates and don't waste your time on builds

Are you even aware of the fact that it's only one developer working on the project, all alone? And how impressive it is what he can do, even if it takes time? Keeping alive a project like Poweramp with only one active developer working on it it's not an easy task, but I bet you'll understand that.

It is not benifit of me

Pretty much you try to convince everyone in a rather rude way that these are the most iportant things in the world (no) and no one cares any of that.

Edit: Sorry @andrewilley for the too honest comment, I've been always a get what you give type of person, that's just me.

    With regards.

I don't think anyone is arguing against that?

No one is arguing about anything andre, we're here to have conversations. 🙂 To make it customizable? Of course I'm in, there's no downside to it. To change the behavior of the app on the other hand? Well, I'd be pretty mad to be honest, if I'd had to learn to use Poweramp again, after all that 10 years of usage.

  8. I can understand, it would be ok to have it customizable for the one's who want it. It's not the point. The point is, why should any app work the exact same way as ten others? It's a written law every music player should work the same way? Most of us using Poweramp as our ONLY music player (guess why) we got used to it over the years, we like it, we love it. It's fully customizable, even the skins for Poweramp fully customizable. Let's not talk about every function like for example, parametric equalizer. The whole point of Poweramp is to stand out of the common music players. It was always an advanced music player, and pretty much it's the best music player in android platform. For common usage, there's another 10 million music players out there to choose from. In short, Poweramp is not for the common user anyway.

The reason I suggested to change the swipe actions was because again, nearly every other player works this way.

So that means Poweramp must stand in the line of the millions of other players? I don't get this... Poweramp is not focused on to be just "one of them" 10 years Poweramp user, I can fairly say that it's still one of a kind. I think that's the main reason people love Poweramp, and the reason it is so successful, because it's not "just one of them"

  10. Swipe gestures are pretty convenient in my opinion, especially if you have a brick phone. Like, literally a huge brick. Reaching out for the buttons is pretty hard on a big screen with one hand, even for me it's uncomfortable and my palm is big, almost dropped the phone many times because of this. The last thing you want is to drop your $1500 phone. From the palyer screen you can swipe down to show the list view, if you browsing your library and want to go back, you can swipe right. As I said, swipe gestures makes it a lot more comfortable to navigate, what's the point even to use buttons if you have navigation gestures? I don't know, but I don't want swipe gestures to be tampered with. It's perfect the way it is. Maybe make it costumizable for the people who want them to be customized, but the people who are happy with it, can leave it in default. So it's a win-win.

  11. Yeah, not a bad idea. I have always felt some kind of emptiness, incompleteness in the case of visualizations in Poweramp, don't get me wrong, milkdrop visualizations isn't that bad, but not that good either. I have always missed that classical, retro feeling. Back in the day when everyone's dream was those big heavy and bulky, stacked analogue stereo stuff, I always loved it's flashy indicators like VU's, peak indicators, spectrum analyzers and stuff like that. Man, those were the times... and those stacked analogue stuff were the real deal. It would be nice if we could have those stuff in Poweramp, however I don't think it would happen.

  12. @andrewilley I have no idea about that either how widely is it supported, I know it's possible but I'll be ok with the simple each-line way. That's just a bonus if it doesn't need a whole new window for it, like musixmatch and the other ones. I think it's simple to replace title - album /artist texts when the lyrics are on, it looks good and not distracting as well.

  13. It would be good to implement that feature in Poweramp, it was the best music player and still it is, and it will be. I think it's the most advanced music player on android, we do have everything what we need, except synced lyrics support. Would love to see some simple way to make that happen, for example when lyrics turned on, title and album / artist text disappear and shows the lyrics instead. When there's no lyrics, then revert back. Here's a short video of what I was thinking.

  14. If you do want to get the best possible sound setup for an event, just hire a sound engineer, in short. There's just so much in a truly professional sound setup that is way too far from an average person's abilities, that's why there's sound engineers out there, it's their job. You can watch a couple of youtube videos to learn a bit if you're interested in this topic. Do check a few  indoor and outdoor setups cuz it's not the same thing obviously. You're welcome :D
