    Hello,

I've opted for beta to test the wonderful equalizer-by-BT-device feature. It works quiet well, but sometimes it won't work. Especially with the Bluetooth from my car.

When connecting to my car, the wrong equalizer preset is selected. I have to close Poweramp then remove it for recent tasks (sometimes I even have to force close it). When it restarts, it chooses the right preset. As long as I don't close Poweramp, if the wrong preset is used, even if I change preset manually, when the next song starts, the wrong preset will be selected again.

I have the problem when connecting to my BT car, and also for the device following my car audio, so I think it is linked to the BT of my car. I've triple checked settings, removed presets, recreated it, but it's the same.

I use Tasker for BT tasks and it manages to handle all BT devices well, so I think the problem is in Poweramp.

I have this issue too.  I have posted about this issue here and in the bug forum I believe but nobody responded.   I have that happen with the bt adapter for the car and my jlab headphones.   I have to turn the headphones back off and back on again to get it to load the right one.   I had to take the car one out of the setting because it wouldn't switch to it sometimes.   And once I had the bluetooth speaker in there twice for the eq setting.   And yes when manually changing to the proper one it always changes back to whatever wrong device it thinks it is.

  2. I would love that as well.  I don't see how people can listen to streaming services without a good EQ.   My guess is it's the type of people that don't even know how to turn one on or use one.  And they don't even know the difference they make or a good pair of headphones.  I've had people tell me they're iphone headphones sound really good but when i had a iphone those things that came with the phone  did not sound good.

  3. I didn't get a response in the bug section so I'm reposting here.

I think there's a bug with the way Poweramp handles saving the eq presets per bluetooth device.   Sometimes when i connect a device it shows the previous device and eq.  and when switching the eq setting to the one i need then when the next song comes it switches back to the previous one again.   sometimes if i turn on my headphones and back on then it will show up as the correct device.   yesterday i had the speaker listed in there twice for the eq setting/device!!!!  once was checked and the other was unchecked.   I've been noticing these issues for the last few days.   I hope there's a fix.   either Poweramp is reading the wrong BT device or android is not consistent on what it's reporting.

Also noticed that when this happens the player doesn't start playing on connect as well.   This never used to happen.  So I have to click play myself

  5. I started noticing bunches of album covers being corrupted and i have to resync from the computer or a go to the songs are fine and look at the album covers that are fine and then click ok and Poweramp overwrites the bad ones in the albums.   I didn't notice this the other day.   I don't think i got the newest update that came out yesterday I think it was.  Is there a problem with Poweramp or is my memory card going to crap again?

Noticed this as well on 2 different devices and android versions. I have cleared PA cache and selected again the "image/album art" from storage but it didn't take effect.

I noticed that too.   I thought it was because i cleared data and reimported settings.   So this is because of an update?

  7. looks like i need to reset the yaps alternative $yaps$ skin because the color settings aren't working right.   But when importing settings after reinstalling Poweramp the corruption is restored too.   So i don't want to start from scratch on the whole app so if i can reset the skin it would be better.

@hypomaniac-eric sounds like some corruption somewhere. The latest Poweramp release does not cause any issues for me or others. Why dont you recreate your playlists as .m3u, and let Poweramp rescan everything, then add the .m3u playlists back in.

@andrewilley  I've been meaning to report back.  a few days ago it did it again.  This time on my tablet.   So I looked at the playlist in a text viewer and everything was there as far as i can tell.   I removed it from Poweramp and then rescanned and it picked it back up and then it was fine.   So I don't think it's the playlist.   I think Poweramp is holding it in memory and then get's corrupted within Poweramp when the new one is copied to the device.

Yes, that would let you see what the stored paths and filenames look like, and if they match your devices file system.

M3U playlists are now dealt with in a manner which tries to resolve path issues by the way. PA checks the filename and one level of containing folder for a match, rather than inditing that the full path be a 100% match. Obviously internal lists need to be a full match though, as PA created the links itself.

Ok so I synced and this time it just plays different songs then what i click on in the playlist.   Like it used to during the playlist bugs last year i think it was.   I tried turning shuffle off but no change.   But it only does it on the playlist that was loaded when the sync happened.    Looking at it in a txt editor i see nothing wrong at the top of the list anyways.

Have you tried exporting your playlists to see where the file links are pointing to, and then check to see that the songs in the database are the same?

    Andre

Not yet.   I will look into it.   open it in a text editor on the phone?   I am thinking Poweramp must be conflicting with musicbee trying to sync and jacking up the playlist that is in use.   both trying to use the file at the same time in other words.

I didn't move anything or remove the card.  I deleted a few songs as i was having problems with Poweramp not reading the id3 tags correctly so i had to clear the tags with mp3tag and redo the tags.   then resync but everything on at that playlist was getting jacked.   And it happened on a different playlist too.   After a few resyncs things settle down.  It was not doing this before the update.

I just synced my music again and now the playlist I was on and listening to, during the sync, will only play the first song no matter which song i click on.   But if i use the forward or back arrows it will advance to other songs.   But as soon as i click on a song it goes back to the first song.   I'm getting mad about this.   I now hate the first on on the playlist after being forced to listen to it everytime i go to a song I want to listen too.  Once again I had to resync the music while parked on a different playlist.    Please @maxmp can you look into this.

The problem is probably that the locations of the files on your storage may have changed for some reason. Re-inserting an SD Card can cause Android to rename it for example, or perhaps you've renamed or moved some folders? Whatever the reason, Poweramp then has to treat any files it finds in that storage location as 'new' items, rather than old files which happen to have the same names as ones that are listed in old playlists.

Setting the options to disable Resolve Playlist Entries will cause Poweramp to keep any old links in your playlists - even if those files are no longer to be found where it is expecting them. This is useful if a filesystem change is temporary (for example storage that has not yet been mounted when PA does its scan). Then when the temporarily missing files subsequently re-appear, Poweramp will be be able to find and play them from a playlist. However if the files have been permanently moved, all you are going to end up with is a playlist full of paths and names that go nowhere - which is when you would see 'Can't play file / file not found' messages.

Go into one of your playlists in the Library and find one of the entries that does not play. Long-press it, and view Info/Tags. That will tell you the full path where PA is expecting to find the audio file. Is that the exact same path and location as a file explorer shows?

  13. still keep having problems syncing and resycning a playlist.  Either corrupts it to where only the first song plays no matter what song you click on.   Or now it just skips through all the songs saying the file is not found or whatever.   It's getting real annoying.

Have you checked the relevant options in Settings > Library > Playlists? (especially 'Resolve Playlist Entries', which should be turned OFF to prevent this happening during automatic scans).

    Andre

don't remember but i did click the dots at the top right of the playlist to rescan right away.   so that maybe what caused it.

  15. The first two look a big extreme.   The 2rd looks good.   Is there a color chooser or whatever to get the number values to put in on that file you was talking about?  You didn't quite answer the question.   I hadn't taken the time to look into it.  yet.   was busy with yard work projects, spray painting during a beautiful 60 degree day and now today it's 20 degrees and wind outside.  Real Feel like 8 degrees.

  16. I think the zereod out playlist bug is back after the last update related to the playlists.  I was syncing from Musicbee while on a playlist and then it conflicted during media scanning and then the playlist was cleared out.   I had to resync again to get it back only to lose songs out of another while on that one.  So it took a third resync to fix that.

@foosblood24 and @hypomaniac-eric, the more i think about this, i will add another equaliser setting which will look for a .milk called user_defined_1.milk. This means that you can use a text editor to edit a definition as shown above and send me the result which i will then add to the asset folder of the app.

Thanks.  I'll see what i can do.   I did lots of monkeying around till I was able to do those colors on the spectrum analyzer for Musicbee and figured it out.   Is there  a easy way to pick what color you want that converts to the proper numbering or color code we need?  I can't remember if i found a website that converts to the proper color code.
