what kind of phone is this? it has large humungous bezels like the early days of smartphones. and the case looks huge. I never heard of that brand.

What happened to the dev with the Aurora skin? I hadn't seen any updates in this forum in years and i noticed lately on my tablet there's alignment issues now. Is there not many people doing skins anymore for Poweramp? I noticed many of my skins I hadn't used in a while i noticed hasn't been updated in awhile and i haven't seen anything on them in the forum in a few years.

I've just checked build-973 with YTM version 6.14.50 and it works fine, no bugs from YTM introduced in this version.
did you see my last post? Do you know why it would quit working then start working again? and I was also wondering about why the EQ cuts out sometimes when i get notifications and i have to bring the app back up to get it to work again.

I've just checked build-973 with YTM version 6.14.50 and it works fine, no bugs from YTM introduced in this version.
I have build 963. well today it connects find to the bluetooth soundbar and now to the same headphones. the spectrum analyzer shows it's working too. I didn't reboot. I want to add however that sometimes in the last year or so when the notifications go off sometimes it stops the EQ from working with YT Music so i have to bring PA EQ back up and turn it back on. I don't know if that is a bug.

I didn't get to enjoy music on YT Music while washing the car because the EQ wasnt' working. had no bass and just mostly mids. really sucks with a good pair of headphones. It shows it's enabled but last seen time is 0. I turned it off and on. even closed out both apps . still can't get YT Music to work on the EQ. last time it happened it just started working as mysterious as it quit. I'm having the same problem with my GF's phone. i can't listen to it though because it's connected to her hearing aids. but i noticed the spectrum analyzer wasnt' working on it either.

Connectivity between your device and the BT adapter is nothing that Poweramp can influence. All PA can do is send the audio to Android's specified current output device. The one thing inside PA you could check is Settings=>Headset/Bluetooth=>Last Processed Commands, and see if any spurious Play/Pause commands are being issued during the connection process.

I didn't get around to updating my post. i found that even though i disconnected the stereo in Bluetooth i had to unpair it. it was connecting to both devices. so now i have my Bluetooth adapter working. still waiting for a fix that who knows will ever come for my stereo. If i had the money i would by a different stereo. maybe a touchscreen one if my slot is tall enough. I have an adapter to fit my single DIN stereo in. Don't know what inexpensive touch screen android stereos are any good on amazon or at Walmart.

two years ago i had problems with my Galaxy S21+ connecting to my Pioneer aftermarket car stereo. after lots of fooling around and tech support calls i ended up using an bluetooth adapter for awhile. then almost a year later Pioneer issued a firmware updated the fixed the problem. fast forward to April this year i get my new Galaxy 23 Ultra and now the problem came back. it would connect play music for a few seconds and then either wait 20 seconds to play again or it won't finish connecting. or sometimes won't connect at all and i have to go in the bluetooth settings on my phone and reconnect or repair my device several times or turn the stereo off and back on. it's a real pain when doing door dash when i'm in and out of the car a lot. so i bought another exact bluetooth adapter since my stereo in the bedroom has the other one. only now it plays music for 3 seconds then Poweramp shows it's still playing but i have to pause the music on the app or with the bluetooth button and then click the play button again to get the music back. then i get in the car again and it does it again. and again. it just won't start playing and keep playing without my intervention. what can i do to fix this? don't have this problem with my bluetooth earbuds, headphones, or speakers.

that's good they got it fixed. thanks for letting me know. Glad it isn't a problem with my antivirus. I hate how annoying they are. and the freaking upsale ads for VPN and stuff popping up all the time.

I haven't tried it yet. was waiting to see if it resolves on it's own. by the way when i refreshed the page Kaspersky blocked the website saying it's suspicious or whatever. i had to override it to get back here. has anyone else had this problem? I am getting tired of websites that look legitimate being blocked for being bad when i don't think they are.

i already explained everything in detail further up the thread. No, it changes the timestamp. I've already confirmed it and mentioned it.

and to add to that the computer did show the timestamps was updated after using MP3Tag before. I haven't looked this time. And yes i already checked the settings on MP3Tag last year and last time we talked in this thread. it's not selected to keep the timestamp.

well i found another album that should have had embedded artwork as i had it for many years so i had to fix it. synced it to Poweramp. it shows embedded but still blank cover screen. and i even did a manual rescan on Media Monkey on the computer to make sure it was updated there as Media Monkey didn't detect the embedded cover. It didn't detect the MP3Tag change right away . so it detected it after the rescan. but now Poweramp is'nt doing it's job.

First, restoring existing settings from a previous device may have brought over some settings that were optimised for the previous firmware/hardware. Go into Settings=>Audio=>Output and Restore Defaults.
Second, make sure you are not pushing the Equalizer gain too high. If you are applying heavy bass boost, also reduce the overall preamp gain to compensate. Using the Limiter might help too, although in extreme circumstances you might hear intermittent volume dipping when it is forced to kick in.
ReplayGain is another useful tool to avoid over-saturation (i.e. levels getting pushed over digital 100%) and that will reduce the overall gain for all suitably tagged tracks to a common (adjustable) target level.

so far i think turning the bass knob or sliders down a bit helped. I'm just confused what are the proper sound settings for Poweramp. I think you told me a few years ago to change a certain setting to get rid of the distortion. I couldn't find that thread in the search. But i know others talked about it too a few years ago. Maybe it was in the Support subforum that isn't here anymore. I am wondering where the Support subforum is. I don't use ReplayGain because I use MP3Gain. Been using that since i first came across it in 2003 or 04.

@hypomaniac-eric With a file that exhibits this issue (where you've changed some content externally and synced the file back to your phone) could you have a look at the time/date modified stamp on the file as it now appears on your phone? Does it show a recent date (i.e. the time/date when you made the edit) or has it retained the original date for the file from before the modification? Also, out of interest, what does the last-updated stamp of the containing folder show? I'm not sure whether PA's quick rescan skips folders that don't indicate that their contents have changed since the last scan, or whether it crawls every subfolder regardless (which could make the rescan take longer).

I'm looking at one of the songs from the other day in question on the computer and it shows it was modified on May 03rd but that's probably because i rated the songs yesterday. the same song on the phone was timestamped for May 01 which is the day i posted about it and updated the songs.
I know when i use the old Cheetah Sync app from a long time ago, not sure if you heard of it, but i use it to sync ringtones, notification tones, and photos to my phone. but in the newer androids i have to reboot the phone for the ringtones and notification tones to show up in the settings and i have to access the photos through Samsung Gallery or reboot the phone for the photos to show up on the 3rd party Gallery app. Slightly different sort or problems.

as i said, I use Media Monkey to work on my library and it sometimes fails to properly embed some songs or albums. I've posted in their forums about it for the last 2 years but nothing ever gets done other then people telling me to use MP3Tag to tag the files with album covers. often i have to close out media monkey when i do it. I used MP3Tag to do redo the album covers then synced with Media Monkey app to my phone using the WIFI as the cord is less reliable and takes 4 times as long. I always thought a direct connection would be faster but whatever. then rescan on Poweramp. it finally after 2 attempts found the updated songs and showed in my screenshot as embedded covers but it wasn't till the next day i pulled Poweramp back up and like magic the covers was there all on it's own. I don't know why it took Poweramp so long to show the new covers.
edit: update i resaved an album in MP3Tag just to see if it updated the modified file timestamp and it does.

Note: Info/Tags forces the information to be read from the content of the physical file, it is not shown based on the existing information saved in the music database.
@maxmp I've often wondered about this one, as this sort of issue does gets reported periodically about files that have been modified by two-way syncing applications. Does PA's quick rescan rely on some sort of Android notification of updated directory contents, or does it do a full old-fashioned directory crawl validating both the precise file sizes and the time/date stamps against the files it read last time, and then re-read any files where it detects any changes?

Andre last time I did a Full Scan i lost all my ratings. i had years worth of ratings. now i rarely rate anything because everytime i have this problem people tell me to do a full rescan. But a Full Scan should be the last resort. Not every other time i sync music.

I don't know what happened but today the album covers finely loaded. I would like to know how to fix it the next time around or if there's a bug that needs fixed.

For years I've been having problems with album covers in Poweramp. Firstly the media monkey program fails to embed covers sometimes so i have to use MP3Tag to fix it. Then sync to my phone again. But after 10 times of clicking rescan it still won't show the cover. The Media Monkey app will see them and the Samsung Music app. Poweramp shows its embedded see screenshot.

Perhaps a Guide to the Poweramp Player Screen and a Guide to the Poweramp Library might be a good idea? Covering gestures and long-presses, List Options, etc.
That said, I covered the various 'Repeat' options in complete detail in that third FAQ I mentioned above, along with what the temporary Queue is (and is not) and yet it's still a very regular occurrence that I have to answer confused questions here or on Facebook about what 'Advance Category' means, or why seemly random songs keep appearing while listening to a K-pop Playlist. So maybe the problem is more a case of helping people find the information that is already out there?

those topics i needed help with years ago and you helped me with them. and i need a manual for the sound settings. i asked for help a few days ago and no one helped me. I asked for help for the EQ app months ago and no help. what happened to the Poweramp Support forum? I used to see one and then it disappeared and then the Q and A showed up a few weeks or months later.

I use MP3Gain since the early 00's. works good most the time. sometimes i have to manually tweak some songs with it with a diff setting.

I got a new phone a Galaxy S23 Ultra recently. Sometimes the bass gets distorted on some devices. I restored my Poweramp settings from the previous phone. I can't remember what setting i changed years ago last time this happened. I tried disabling DVC but then my speaker wasn't loud anymore to hear in the shower like before.

that's a good idea. it's so complicated it deserves one. if i don't use it often i get overwhelmed setting it up again.
