Poweramp has a separate Chromecast buffer in Settings / Audio / Output / Chromecast and it's 1800ms by default. Any other buffering is outside of the player and can't be changed by the player.

@Lexy it can't be saved now. There is some blocking logical issue on this, so if you want this feature, what would you choose:
1. all presets then should apply some reverb and other DSP settings to be applied all the time. Built in presets (unless changed by user) then force apply no reverb, no DSP, and other knobs to 0.
2. some (e.g. user saved) presets may contain reverb and other DSP settings, but then other (equalizer+tone one built in/default presets) just do not change the reverb or DSP settings, which were probably applied by the previous user preset.
Thanks!

Flac should contain this info in the file header. If it doesn't and there is something weird with the tags as well, the estimation (which happens then) may be off. There is any kind of weirdness for the files in the wild and I can say for sure and may be add some workaround if you share the file for tests with gpmaxmpz@gmail.com
Thanks!

@Dmitriy Trotsenko either there is no permission to access those files for Poweramp, or no All Files permission for External Storage system app (that was a common bug for some Samsung Android 13 firmwares). Unfortunately reference to VLC or any other players or apps is invalid on Android as there are multiple file access methods depending on app version, app target sdk, app special permissions, etc.

@Сергеи Мороз chromecast functionality hasn't been changed, tested, and works fine in 976. No music when UI is there is indication of Chromecast to the phone connection

Build 976:
- allowed initial and trailing white space to form Tag Split patterns. This requires Full Rescan and may change the way tags are split if you already used Whitespace as split symbol option
- fixes for Google Assistant/Maps in Car mode
- updated translations - huge thanks to all Crowdin translators!
-
@w3wilkes there are some SDK developments (KMM/KMP, Compose+Canvas/WASM GC) which will allow Poweramp port to PC and iOS. I'm keeping hand on the pulse of these projects, but they are not ready yet at the moment.

@Salman7236Equalizer app is not a player and can't do anything about the output player decides to use.
-
@andrewilley I added that to dev builds. Btw separator chars (with the whitespace option) are not trimmed, so the new logic may separate artists differently as now these spaces are included into the patterns.

Poweramp uses system Android USB audio driver, so if any improvements are there Poweramp will benefit from that too.
To the date there is some new APIs for USB DACs in Android 14 - I’ll be testing that.
-
@Sibusiso Mathonsi if nothing helps, this usually means there are remains of Poweramp or Unlocker which were signed with a different signature and that blocks legitimate Poweramp installation.
Looking into the system log right after this failed install attempt will make it clear for sure, but to the date all such logs sent by users indicated exactly that issue - modded Poweramp with its data kept. Android can’t overwrite such remains. This is a security measure to disallow apps from different developer to read other developer app internal data. You need to remove that, either by searching for “com.maxmpz” folders (rooted), or may be by installing that exactly “modded” Poweramp apk and uninstalling it _with_ the data (don’t check that Keep data … checkbox). May be some adb command will help, I’ll check this shortly.

The starting/trailing whitespaces were never intended to be included as separators. I will try to support this for the future builds though, if it doesn't break anything. Thanks for the request.

@Super Dan yes, if crash happens in Poweramp code it will suggest sending error next start (unless Settings / Send Errors To Developer is unchecked). If it appears next time after the "crash" - please send.
Why do you think it crashes btw, is there any error message or something suggesting that?

@odlaw added better support for this mode. This is actually new Google maps launcher/media browser which is now supported from build 976. These results are cached it seems - I haven't found a way to reset the cache. I hope Google will fix this soon as for now it just caches top categories (or, top playlists e.g. for Spotify) forever.
-
All storages available to your Android are listed in that Add folder dialog. (Legacy support option can’t change that behavior.)
Please see the detailed “Storage access network” guide here:
-
@nick brochu I guess you filtered your presets out. In preset dialog remove the search string (X) and ensure top line of filters (User/Builtin...) is checked and lower line (Assigned) is not.
I've added Reset filters button in the build-975 as well.
-
I limited cases when Volume levels will be reset on update. This option is very limited on current (12+) Androids, and also it can interfere with Android Auto, and generally Google wants to forget this option existed due to the Sonos case and they break it all the time. But it works for some firmwares, so that's why it's there.
-
Build 975:
- Reset Filters button in the presets dialog
- prev./next category actions for Media Buttons
- workaround for player media/bluetooth buttons priority on Android 13+ being overridden by the Beep option
- updated translations - huge thanks to all Crowdin translators!
-
@odlaw thanks for the report, I'll check what is possible to change there.

@michaeljb77 does it play evenly in MusicBee? If so, it should play so in Poweramp and it's just a matter of configuration. If not, scanning should be redone either with different options or in the different software. We have plans to integrate own scanner into Poweramp, though, as it runs on mobile device with very strict background processing rules, it will be not so reliable for the large libraries.
-
@michaeljb77 the RG scanning software must analyze tracks and add the gains to the tags. Poweramp then reads the tags and applies that extra gain for each track/album.
This means the quality of the volume normalization depends on the RG scanning. And usually it makes tracks lower, not louder.
-
@fr0stsilver update may change some options to defaults on some devices if it's known that:
- option won't work properly on those firmwares/device
- options may not make sense anymore
- option is changed a lot. -
If enabling RG causes overloads, reduce RG preamp.
-
@michaeljb77 rg preamp can't change balance between channels, nor +1dB can do much. If you're amplifying too much you'll get overloads (which may be hidden by Limit, disable it to check it), adjust RG Preamp or preamp accordingly.
Reverb and channel ballance to be saved with devices

@andrewilley if you have preset A with all those reverbs and stuff, and preset B without these, what happens when you select B after A? Does it apply A reverb and B doesn't change it? Or does B resets reverb to defaults?
