Bingo, sounds like you've found the problem. So one or more files in those two folders are causing the scanner to fail. Could be corrupted storage, or a badly encoded file (or files).

The next step would be to create two new folders inside your new (i.e. working) master music folder, and then copy (as a duplicate, not moved) the suspect audio files over there one-by-one until the scanner fails to catch one of the files. You could speed the process up and do them in groups if you like, breaking the content down into working and non-working until you find single culprits. Once you've found the problem files, see if they'll play in anything else. If you've got master copies elsewhere (e.g. on a computer) try copying the original versions over again, in case the files have simply become corrupt.

If it is a case of storage corruption, it might be an idea to copy everything off, reformat the SD Card cleanly, and then the copy the good files back again.

Hi, its been a few days , just got time to mess with the transfer of these files...

so... found 2 albums that did not add to library. i added one file at a time from the first album and surprise they all turned up in the library, they were copied not moved. (not play tested as yet) then went to second album (12 tracks) , added first 6 , no problem in the library, added second 6 one track missing! track 7. (could this be the culprit?) so added 8-12 no problem there then, so just for the hell of it tried to add track 6 again, it added to the library!

So no definitive answer, at best maybe corrupt data on sd card. any thoughts? Thanks again all x

Yes, most likely reading issues for the specific files (or folder details) in their original storage locations. You might find one or two now glitch during playback if there was some data issue.

If you have master copies of those two albums on a computer, it might be worth copying that content over instead just to be 100% sure.
