neonatus
or the features of the equalizer app are already built-in the music player app? I mean, are there a more "advanced" features in PAmp equalizer app that's not in the music player? Fitzian
Stacking the two doesn't allow hi res output, and the player not having a compressor like the EQ app isn't a deal breaker to me. andrewilley
The stand-alone EQ provides a compressor which isn't yet in the main app, but the main app has a reverb and stereo-expand. As it happens I use none of those, so when playing in PA I always use PA's own internal EQ features. Also the internal EQ supports hi-res output, which the external one does not. As @Fitzian has said, it's not a good idea to try to use both at the same time anyway. Josh Targo
the standalone equalizer does not support hi-res (cd quality / flac) output? maxmp
@Josh Targo it purely depends on the device/firmware. LDAC (96khz) usually works fine on the recent Androids. Thanks! The stand-alone EQ app supports regular Android audio paths - so at least CD/DVD quality, certainly up to 44.1kHz/48kHz including FLAC sources - but not customised high-res audio paths which bypass normal Android processes. Josh Targo
ok, good. CD quality is good enough for me. I'm streaming Tidal hifi and don't want to degrade the quality. However, when the app is minimized or screen is locked, the music starts to glitch and skip really bad. is there a known fix for this? allow background use is on, and optimize battery is off. any ideas?
