Lethabo
Hi, I would like to request more sorting options, specifically iTunes Sorting Options. I realised the app doesn't sort some albums in the way I edited them on iTunes, for example albums with Roman numerals in the name can be edited so that they follow standard numbering while still displaying the original titles, therefore I would like to request the "sort as" options from iTunes app & explicit tags in songs to show
maxmp
Thanks for the request. Currently, support for an additional sorting options is planned in regard to Asian scripts (where multiple sorting variants are possible for the same label). As for iTunes additional tags to handle those properly, all your songs should have it (in the given category, folder, album, etc.). Added to TODO. andrewilley
Thanks Max, supporting the ID3 and other sort order tags (only if present for a given song of course, otherwise fallback to normal sorting) would be a great idea. Album sort order TSOA Performer sort order TSOP Title sort order TSOT It might also be a good time to tackle some of the other sort-related requests from the last few years too? A quick roundup from memory: Allowing 'Article skipping' to work in Title tags too Providing an editable Articles list beyond just "A", "An", "The" (to better support other languages) Option for intelligent sorting of 1,2,3,11,12,13,100,101,etc, instead of only sorting numeric digits as pure ASCII Allow skipping punctuation symbols at the start of titles - so songs beginning with brackets such as "(Is This The Way To) Amarillo" aren't all sorted to the top. As discussed before, none of this should apply to file/path sorting though, that should always be clean ASCII. Andre

Some examples; The Beatles --> Beatles John Lennon --> Lennon, John (Is This The Way To) Amarillo --> Is This The Way To Amarillo
andrewilley
In ID3 (not per main spec, but in the wild such as in Picard) Album Artist Sort is TSO2 (or older as TXXX:ALBUMARTISTSORT), with Composer Sort as TSOC or TXXX:COMPOSERSORT. Vorbis has similar fields too:TITLESORT ALBUMSORT ARTISTSORT ALBUMARTISTSORT COMPOSERSORT In all cases though, if found in any given song file these sorting tags should be used verbatim (no processing for Articles, Numbers, etc). And if not found, that song should be sorted by regular Title, Artist, etc tags as per the other rules. Andre
