Cannot work for Hiby R5

I really love the Poweramp player. However, it seems cannot work for my newly Hiby R5.

  • If I turned on the DVC, I got a really low volume... Have to turn it off. Noticed that the quality will be improved if turning on the DVC....
  • if I switched to Hi-Res output, I got crackle and pop sound all the time. And somehow, I changed the sample rate to 48 or 44.1 or something else, the strange sound disappeared even I changed back to 192. However, if I paused the music and resumed, the crackle and pop sound came back again...

This happened under the version 846 to 852....

Would you please help me out? Thanks.

DVC works with a slightly lower volume level, but this is of no consequence to the main issue of crackling noise during Hi-res playback.  Hi-res playback is unusable on this particular device using plugin monitors, balanced or non-balanced.  However, hi-res playback does work without the crackling noise using any Bluetooth device as an output.

DVC disabled, no change, still crackling noise on Hi-res playback.  Reducing pre-amp gain, noise still there.  As the original poster stated, changing the sample rate under Hi-res output for the wired headset removes the crackling noise, which is quite loud, but only until playback is stopped and then restarting the playback and we're back to  noise.  This might be a problem with Hiby devices since the original poster has a R5 model and I have a R6.  Sure would be nice to have a fix though since PA is the best Android music app out there.

Exactly. Really looking forward for fixing this bug.

Beside, both hiby r5 & r6 has additional chip processing audio instead of just soc chips. There is Direct HD showing in hi-res menu. I was wondering if Poweramp was leveraging the dedicated chip built in r5?

I just received an r5 today, did the system update and Poweramp worked just fine, even with HD output. Then I checked again for updates, and there was another system update... after that Poweramp crackles and is all weird unless I use the openxx or Java audio output. Haven't tried DVC yet.

Poweramp is a zillion times better than the hiby player, it would be awesome if it worked!
