EQ App should be used for other sources of audio on Android you want to EQ separate from Poweramp Player itself.
If you want to use EQ within Poweramp, there is graphic and now parametric EQ options as of beta build 905-909.

Seems pretty daft of the Dev to say “oh this will break gapless playback”, meanwhile I can name only ONE ALBUM amongst 1,607 others on my DAP that has different sample rates within one album…
Gapless playback in any other context besides ‘An Album’ means total bupkis.

Adding a unified Album Artist tag to songs of such albums will fix this issue, (along with enabling relevant Album Artist tag sorting options in Poweramp).

Not sure how much of this behavior is under LivDark's control, but here you can see the default Library Icons (gradient multicolor) have been set :
All appears as it should on the top level library view:
And again all appears normal drilling down into the Album Artist category:
However, once 'Hide Icons' has been chosen under Library Icons in LivDark's settings:
Everything looks fine (better than fine, it looks great!) on top level library view:
Bad news, however once I drill down into the Album Artist category:
The Library Icons shown in this category aren't removed or hidden at all.
It changes appropriately according to other options for Library Icons, but once hidden en masse the default icons pops back in, creating a messy look compared to the chosen accent color..
Is there any way for this library icon to be truly hidden from this view? Or at least mandate the White-outline icons or something more monochrome / less distracting be made to display when Hide Icons has been selected?

That's exactly it, though, the having to have something as its current song on startup..
Why give option to start at top view of the library at all ? I've not selected any options for PA to remember track progress.
Also starting with the exact same song queued (alphabetically) would be even more irritating, so this is probably just a non-starter, no pun intended.

I know some folks enjoy the convenience of having their last played song/queue/list be re-instated as soon as the app launches, (if not automatically start playing).
Myself though, I'm wondering if it's possible to have the option for PA to simply start from my top level view of library (wherever long press on home button brings us to) and not have something from the last playback session already queued and shown in the mini-player.
I don't know if this would interfere with some system logic PA uses on startup to announce/begin its audio session for whatever audio output is to be used.
But, can it be done?
In this one instance I just wish for PA to be slightly more forgetful..

Not sure when this started version wise, or if it ever worked right on my particular device (a FiiO X5iii, 800x480px display, Android 5.1.1, Poweramp build-905-arm32-play, Liv Dark v1.5.2), but I am unable to see (or easily adjust) the Volume, Balance or Stereo Expand knobs with Liv Dark enabled (reset to defaults, but changed background to grey for visibility).
Also just noticed the knob is cropped for tempo controls as well.

I was trying to steer my suggestion away from 432 nonsense. There’s nothing special or cosmic about detuning your music, full stop.
But if you’re going to have gone to lengths to aide listeners of audiobooks in a music player app (?)
This seems to be a no-brainer... Especially if Poweramp is internally capable.
Saying it’s internally capable and declining when there’s a number of use cases feels like being deliberately obstinate.
As others have said, this could help musicians who want to play along to a song in a key easier for them to play, etc. Changing pitch 200 cents brings you down a whole tone, which for singers can be huge.

I guess if we were to say pitch = pitch, tempo = tempo, & speed = pitch AND tempo. Currently Poweramp only allows users to adjust tempo. I wouldn't be very interested in having pitch adjustible by itself, but rather speed. The ranges available to user need not be absurd (I don't think any music is going to be enjoyable at one tenth its original speed). The use case for that is nonexistent. No argument there.
Sometimes on an hour+ trip in the car, bringing the speed down by a few ticks (8%) can make an album sound brand new. I'm not talking woo-woo 432 Hz nonsense, just on the whole, it has a use case. Want something more mellow than Bob Marley's Redemption Song? That's the solution.
I find it funny that Poweramp yet lacks an OPTION to avoid resampling to a fixed rate, when ones hardware supports the full gamut of sample rates (44.1-384kHz). If you're committed to only offering true 1:1 playback 100% of the time. Then what's that about?
Nothing "gapless" will be in different sample rates.

Separating the chaff from the worthy suggestions is arduous, I'm sure. On top of things already in the works (like new multiband graphic EQ & Parametric EQ options).
The finer control of tempo & pitch would complete the package!

@Vekx92 I’ve had great results doing this in Neutron Music Player. But it works differently than existing tempo changer in Poweramp.
Poweramp changes tempo while maintaining original pitch.
Neutron has two sliders, one for tempo and one for pitch. Pitch there adjust pitch alone. Bringing tempo value down to 0.92x for example also changes pitch in practice (but not the pitch setting value itself). An option for “tone compensation” allows pitch value to automatically adjust based on how slow tempo is, bringing it back to “normal sound” as Poweramp does automatically.

32/192 working on Headphone Output, Balanced Output, & Line Output... sweet!
Might show up as 16/192 first but you just have to “restore defaults” for the output and it’s all good.

Bumping request again for this app to recognize line out and balanced connections on the FiiO X5iii as proper hi res outputs and not just "speaker"
If you lack a device for testing, heck, I'll even send my own for whatever length of time it takes.

Hi Res Output is bugged. Occasionally locks itself to 16 bit / 192 kHz, on headphone output, labeled wired headset/aux.
And Balanced headphone output and line out are labeled as SPEAKER. And locked to OpenSL ES 16/48. I understand this is probably common practice for cell phones that have an earpiece and speaker. But this is not a cell phone. It is a digital audio player with three wired outputs.
Is this anything in the scope of development that you ever plan to address? I've made posts in bug reports thread. I've made an official bug report. What does it take to get an answer around here?

@maxmp what kind of testing can be done to get hi res working on the FiiO X5iii properly? I have DVC and everything else turned off, as I don’t care about EQ or modifying my sound in SW. There’s no clear indication why for any reason only the headphone output offers hi res output. Again this device like the M11 and other DAPs have MULTIPLE OUTPUTS. Why is it restricted to only one of them?
Shuffle naming so complicated

I'd appreciate help in setting up the same thing, here.
I can press shuffle in the header when in the album category, which for some reason always(?) defaults to shuffling both CATEGORIES AND SONGS. From now playing I have to then adjust shuffle mode to shuffling CATEGORIES ONLY.
At that point it has already queued and started playback of some album from whatever random song was chosen out of order within it.
I then have to use the 'Pro Buttons' category skip button to have it then start another random album from the beginning, which Poweramp will then play in order, and then shuffle to another album and play in order, etc. etc.
How to remove the extra steps...
Such that I can click shuffle in album category header, and thus play random album from any album artist, in its original track order, and advance to next album and so on?
