Her's was a fresh install of Poweramp.   I didn't have this problem with Musicbee but i quit using musicbee because the dev wasn't interested in updating the app to be compatible with Android 12.  He told me i should switch to media monkey.

There's two album art images embedded into this file.

Have you tried using just one image and see if that fixes things?

@andrewilley Sorry, I was not clear my new device does not allow for the installation of Huawei apps, I now have a Samsung S20

From what I take from answer, there is no way my non Play store unlocker purchase can be applied to a Play Store app, I will need to repurchase if I choose to use Poweramp

Okay, I'm sorry for initial misunderstanding, so on your old phone, you had purchased player and unlocker via huawei app store? And now your employer provided a samsung s20, which does have google play store and services.

Your situation is the opposite to what most users on the forum post about!

In your case, I think you'll have to repurchase a license through Google Play or direct license through website (whichever is cheaper or least inconvenient for you).

  3. So, your employee provided device was a Huawei, and they're worried about security and not letting you download apps from Huawei store?

You need to purchase a direct license from Poweramp itself (see HERE), which is separate license from that which you already have through google play. If google play store and google play services are not installed on your device, the unlocker app purchased on google play cannot "phone home" and validate your license, there.

Me. I mostly sort by filename (which if it's an album track would start with the track number, or discno-trackno in the case of multi-disc albums, or whatever I choose as a prefix for singles etc). And the All Songs list is sorted by Title.

My point was that PA had lots of sorting options, and this feature could only apply if Disc# in use.

    Andre

There’s what, more than 15 different ways to sort a list of songs in Poweramp? Customizable for categories and subcategories alike.

…so why bother (trying to make one of them more useful)?

As for myself, I just don’t feel compelled to sort an Artist’s Album’s Songs in any fashion other than disc#,track# for adequately tagged files. My filenames are formatted as disc#-track#-title, as well.

What I (also) don't understand completely is Replay gain for "Album" or "track" . I always thought, that choosing "album" would cause that every song of an album/folder would have the same highest volume. But when I compile an album myself from different sources and save it in one folder, and the tracks in it have different volumes, the quietest track is not aligned with the loudest. I tried this once by saving the same song at different volumes. But the volume differences always remain. The songs are not played at the same volume.

Is there a way to align this?

‘Album’ preserves differences in dynamics across the number of songs you selected with a ReplayGain Scanner utility.

‘Track’ tries to level out the differences in dynamics from song to song.

The exact gain values (in dB) you should expect when using either mode are plain to see in the track metadata.

There’s PLENTY of documentation regarding ReplayGain out on the web.

Right now regardless if you use disc tags it just puts it in one long album with no indication of disc numbers. (as long as the album tag is the same for all of them of course.)

There’s an option to show disc number in the track meta found in Settings->Library->Lists, but this is simply shown in-line with the track length and file format. Definitely agree a disc # header and subsequent grouping would be much cleaner :) (when disc# tags or total discs tag is >1, not sure if it’s needed for plain old single disc albums)

@maxmp If you mean Google play (Market store) there is non on the phone. As I mentioned in first post, I installed Poweramp over Aurora store with google account, therefore I could download the unlocker, because I bought it. It works on first run, but after I searched music and reopened Poweramp it stops working.

No Google Play Services, no way for the app to “phone home” and verify your license. Simple as that.

Asking for some ”updated” unlocker app that has no means of contacting google for license verification is completely laughable. The unlocker app’s SOLE PURPOSE is to handshake with Google and verify your purchase.

Want to avoid that handshake? Well, you’re in luck, as direct purchases are verified with a purchaseID and associated email address tied to the actual purchase ($$), no unlocker needed.

Yes I understand your view, but want to ask if there is any other solution. Because I purchased a license to use Poweramp software, and now I cannot. In that time (2012) was no other solution as I know how to buy Poweramp. Now there is a possibility to buy Poweramp without google, so it can by just a license transfer.

Disney and netflix are not the same, there you cannot buy a movie as I know, but is not a big problem to download the movie and watch on anything else. But this is not possible with Poweramp.

    😒

semantics aside, the response to these requests remains constant:

IF you bought license from GP, that license is only verified through GP license check. That license can be used simultaneously on as many concurrent devices as you have connected to that GP account.

IF you buy license direct, that license/Purchase-ID may be used on only one device at a time, but may be transferred to a new device an unlimited number of times.

These conditions were never changed, there was no rug pulled out from under you.

It’s as secure a way as any to prevent folks from gaming the system, in my view.

And how do these edits make their way back to your original library? I think adding the underscore would either duplicate files, or have them get "lost" during any sync process.

If the non-underscored folder does not exist… it’s culled from the library when performing a rescan and the underscored folder is added in turn.

I’m all for just using Mp3tag/kid3 to edit tags en masse. Any time I had a tag to change and wanted to enforce the tag change when those files were already scanned in to any app’s music library (PA, NMP, UAPP), renaming the folder with an added underscore never resulted in duplicates or missing files.

But I don’t care about protecting (my non-existent) playlists from effects of such location alterations.

  10. If your music library is organized Root\Music\Artist\Album, I bet renaming (adding an underscore to) the album folder for multiple track edits or the file name for single edits, would make other music apps replace the previous entry for those files with the ones having their tags corrected in Poweramp.

Would this mess up playlists if that matters to you? Probably. 💁

Yes, it is the best music player, maybe it should be better:

now it starts to support Hi-Res devices and files, so the frequency range of EQ should be relaxed to at least 10Hz-20kHz, which is reasonable and necessary for high quality music playback.

    As of latest build:

    • max. parametric band frequency increased to 24kHz

I wonder how neutron is able to use 32bit even 64bit.

You may be confusing whatever bit depth the internal DSP or sound engine is operating in, with what bit depth actually arrives to the DAC and thus the output.

Playback anything in Poweramp, and long press on the track's audio quality or output details bubble, you'll see under DSP: Float64/32-bit.

Internally Poweramp is working at 64bit on supported CPUs and in 32bit on supported CPUs.

What word length your DAC accepts is an entirely different story.

  13. Depending on what source/store its acquired from, a fair bit of EDM could have specific genre tags baked in for different styles beyond just "Electronic", such as Dubstep, Drum & Bass, Glitch Hop, Electro House, Psy-trance, Trap, etc. Especially among the more prolific creators out there. Mainly was in the early and mid 2010s before genre-blending got out of control (in the best way possible). But some albums could have different genres from track to track...

  14. Does your OS not allow you to change the navigation mode to your liking? On android 12 on pixel 3a, these can be changed as follows...

Settings -> Accessibility -> System Controls -> System Navigation

You clearly have 3 button navigation enabled, though gesture navigation is definitely the least intrusive visually.
