Alnewtes
As a long-time user and fan of Poweramp, I've noticed that there haven't been any major updates or new releases for quite a while now.

andrewilley
Updates are released when they are ready, but not to any specific schedule. @maxmp Perhaps you could put the users' minds at rest a bit by giving some hints as to what you've been working on over the past 10 months since the last Stable release, and which of the voted Feature Requests are likely to be available in the next release (or Add-on Pack)? Robert56
Last stable release now 12 months old today, can you be honest with the users and tell us what's happening, has development stopped and the small package ect was just a red herring to buy some time! andrewilley
Last stable release was 20 Sept 2023, so about ten months ago. As stated above, updates are released when they are ready, not to any specific schedule. @maxmp said a while ago that the multiple regular releases of small updates wasn't really working as a development process, so he's planning on doing one or two more major releases a year. The app itself already works as advertised, and with a UI better than just about every other player on the Android platform.
ChildOfTheMoon
It has been a long time since I last got a pop up mentioning an update 🤔

MysteryONeal
Here's a quote from the Play Store description for the app: "- Get all the future updates for free: Once you purchase Poweramp, all the future updates are free to you as long as you have the Unlocker." So, why are we now getting popup ads for paid features/updates in an app for which we paid for all future updates. Don't get me wrong. I love the app. I have been using it and telling others to use it since shortly after its creation. I don't mind helping devs pay the bills. But, this is not the way to go about it. It is false advertising, irritating, and just plain wrong. This is how apps die.
andrewilley
@MysteryONeal New builds of the core app are still free - bug fixes, core functionality, updates for new Android ROM compatibility, etc. That will always be the case. Additionally, and only if you want, there will now be optional Feature Pack releases. You don't need to buy them if you don't want, but this seemed the fairest way to fund ongoing development in a changing marketplace. Andre
