Drugoli Knight
Been using the app for years. For the last few weeks, even if the app is closed, it will start autoplaying from where it left off whenever I increase the media-volume on my phone. Usually have media volume to zero, but if I'm say sent a video or need audio when reviewing a captured video, the player automatically starts playing and therefore pauses whatever I'm about to watch. It is very frustrating. For a while when I was using Spotify, it also paused that and started playing it's own music. I have the "resume" settings turned off in Poweramp. Pause on disconnect however is enabled. Not sure if any log-file from the app will help. But I'll of course provide if requested. Build number: build-974-bundle-play [974004-862d3789] Device: Asus Zenfone 6 2019 Android version: Stock Asus, Android 11. Steps to reproduce: Play music. Pause and lower volume (sometimes also only using bluetooth playback and speakers already at zero). Close app in multitasking. Increase speaker/media volume and playback resumes automatically. maxmp
@Drugoli Knight Poweramp has "Last Processed Commands" log in Settings (you can search for it). It will show what exactly starts Poweramp. Thanks!
Solution andrewilley Posted August 27, 2023 Solution Share Posted August 27, 2023 There is also a feature to pause and then resume playback when volume is reduced to zero and subsequently raised again. Try turning that feature off in Settings=>Audio=>Advanced Tweaks, in case that's the cause in this case. Andre

Andre I'd been combing the settings for quite a bit, but didn't think that option was hidden in the advanced tweaks. Was this enabled automatically with a recent update? It also states it only works when the UI or notification is visible, however for me it works constantly. So something seems to not be working completely as intended. I have both "Keep Notification", "Keep Inactive Media Notification" and "Keep Service" disabled in the settings, and always swipe it away. I've just enabled the remove on disconnect, to see if that also helps. After disabling the mentioned feature, it doesn't autoplay anymore, however Poweramp still reacts and a silent notification pops up for a short period. 40 minutes ago, maxmp said: @Drugoli Knight Poweramp has "Last Processed Commands" log in Settings (you can search for it). maxmp
@Drugoli Knight The log contains just notification press events and weird number of audio focus events (can be when player is paused in notification but is still in foreground). The volume resume option is off by default. The empty notification is a sign of Poweramp being called by some API when it’s in the background. During these times, as far as I remember, the player was only in the background and I did audio level changes. Paused and closed from the notification, when it started playing. Andrewiley's suggestion fixed it though for the time being, so I've marked it as the solution. Thanks for the assistance!
