Skin to have 'non-round' volume button?

Not really been into different skins etc, just 'use' PA to play music. Anyhow, one thing that annoys me (and it's a personal thing so no point in saying 'it's fine for me' ...!) is the round volume 'knob'. I just find it a pain to easily change volume levels that way. Is there a skin, or stock setting maybe, that allows me to change the 'knob' for a slider for example?

I must say I tend to agree that skeuomorphic rotary knobs never feel very intuitive to use on touch-screen interfaces. Straight line controls (either vertical or horizonal sliders) are much easier to control more precisely.

However knobs do look more visually appealing.
