Artist art instead of album art

I have a new car with a bigger audio screen and so there is more info on the screen.

What I see now is that when is song is playing there is sometimes no art and sometimes artist art. For as far as I know I have never added artist art to my songs but only album art (folder.jpg)

I changed some album art settings, cleared the cache and data but it keeps given the artist art instead of album art.

Any ideas?

Thanks.

With Android auto it shows the album art. Why not without android auto? Is also bluetooth.

I do not want to connect my phone with a cable to the system every time. Wireless android auto is not an option yet.

I don't think PA sends album art via BT when the image is in folder.jpg and not imbedded in the actual file itself. You can test this with a couple of files if you want to try it, but that would be my bet. Perhaps @maxmp can confirm?

All album art are also embedded in the songs. I wonder where the artist art comes from?

Does your car radio use Gracenote information? This is often built-in. Not sure if it can be disabled though. I know it is in my wife's Jeep Grand Cherokee and is very rigid. :(

I am able to set albumart as mediaplayer or gracenote in my car system settings. I can enable or disable the gracenote database.

It makes no difference what I choose. The image stays the same when available.
