Bluetooth in Subaru broken

The app causes the Bluetooth in my Moto x4 to crash when playing music in my Subaru Legacy 2017. I have verified with several other Bluetooth said that it is not a common case. It is isolated to the Poweramp app.

Not sure what you mean by "crashing" your car's Bluetooth? Do you mean the connection to your phone drops, or does the whole BT system on your head-unit stop working for any other connections too (in which case there is a design flaw in their software too).

Have you tried un-pairing the connection, restoring Poweramp's Settings > Audio > Outputs page to Defaults, and then re-pairing? Also worth checking the settings in Settings > Audio > Direct Volume Control (DVC) and disabling DVC for Bluetooth, and/or disable Bluetooth Absolute Volume mode.
