Album Art Disappeared

Hi - when I moved from an iPhone, I copied all the music folders to my HTC. Unfortunately, although the phone's normal music player shows the correct album art, even for obscure albums (so I suppose it's picking it up locally, rather than the web), Poweramp does not, in many cases - for maybe 50% of albums, it substitutes the album cover from the first album in my collection (ABBA).

This is a real shame, because I much prefer Poweramp.

How can I get it to update the art please? It's missing even from really well-known albums like BLUR... I don't understand.

Thanks :)

Long-press on the album art within the player screen and you should be offered a selection of possible images to choose from. Pick the one you want and then the next time you listen to the song, that artwork should be shown (you may need to skip to next track and back to force it to display immediately).

Thanks Andre, that's very good fo you - seems to work, indeed.

What a palaver though - I'll have to do it several hundred times :o

How come the HTC's simple, not very good player can do it automatically, and Poweramp can't, I wonder?

Actually, following your good advice, I've noticed something even more annoying and surprising - when I tap on a track to play it, the correct artwork comes up on the screen - yet, when I go back to the album list, the incorrect one comes back again!

There are some discrepancies with the way 'album' art is handled in different screens, the List view sometimes seems to use a generic image for the album, whereas some other images are more file specific. Have a look at the options at the end of the list in Settings > Album Art and see if they help.

Longer term, I think it'd be nice if Poweramp could more clearly define the difference between Track art and Album art. I have a lot of files within folders which have a common subject matter but could not be classed as an 'album' as such. For example, I have some theme park background music tracks which ideally should each have their own separate image for the ride in question (preferably saved inside the MP3 tag) but one no specific track art should be used for the overall folder (which should have its own more generic image).

Not really. I found some micro album art files in .../cache/micro but they are really tiny pictures.

See the link I posted above. You could try looking in Android\data\_com.maxmpz.audioplayer\album_art\ (and other folders in the same location).

What I am looking for is album art the same size as I downloaded from within the player. In former versions the JPEGS have been the .pamp files in the album folder. Where are they gone?
