Hir-res crashing on Android 13

Recommended Posts

Hii guys I have two questions .

1. When I was using Android 12, my phone used to support hi-res audio but after updating to Android 13, the hi-res output is not working. And the app crashes when I select the option. Will this bug fix in future updates

2 does my device support hir-es audio because I'm sure it was working on Android 12 and showing mtk hifi in hi-res output

This is the log

The app crash issue may be addressable if Max can duplicate the problem on his test devices, or via a full Android debug log (not just a PA log, that would be lost when it crashes).

The Hi-Res issue will most likely be fixed by a future ROM update when they realise they broke it. Report it to the company that produces the phone so they are aware.

@Droid Man thanks for the report. It's a specific firmware/phone (mtk based) which is affected. Unfortunately my realme/color os devices are not affected, but I'll keep eye on the issue.

At the meantime I suggest switching to AudioTrack or AAudio outputs.
