Poweramp build number: 939 (Play Store version)

Device model: Vivo Y21s (V2026)

Android version: Android 11

Custom ROM name/version (if you're on custom ROM): None

Steps to reproduce:

1. Get a cue file and it's corresponding track file

2. Play a track

3. Select the "Single song" repeat mode

4. The track plays to its supposed end, then just keeps on playing the source file

(It happens every time)

I can confirm the same, it does seem like a repeatable bug.

It didn't initially happen with the first CUE-generated 'track' that I tested, but it then happened on all CUE-created tracks, including going back to that first one; they all continue to play beyond their CUE-defined end-point when in Single Song mode.

Bug still seems to be present on latest release. Playing a CUE-generated song in single-song mode does not reliably stop of the end of the stated track duration. The first time round it seems to work, but if you then play it again it keeps going past the end point.

I may have found a solution if you are rooted.  After trying to free up as much system memory as possible... Basically disabling Google.  I installed Swap Torpedo for Magisk from XDA in order to kill the ZRAM.  My hypothesis is that Poweramp is very susceptible to the low memory killer in android.  If you kill off the compressed RAM drive it will leave Poweramp alone.

My testing is limited.  But the first day I tried the module I did not have any issue.  Generally I have problems when the screen is off.  I'll post back after further testing.  The phone does behave a bit differently though.  I generally recommend not running this module overall.  But if it allows me to use Poweramp's superior audio engine without hiccups it's worth it.

OK Andre you win.  It's random. After listening to my library shuffled for 16 hours it got stuck on The Kinks.  Although two work days ago it would get stuck on every continuous FLA/cue file.  And I had to manually skip to the next track.

Which is very inconvenient when I'm loading and unloading trailers at ups.  I'll continue to do more testing.

The bug being discussed in this thread is very specific to listening one CUE-generated track in Poweramp's 'Single-Song' mode, and it usually does not occur the first time you listen to a CUE-generated track during a session, but once it has happened once it then occurs with all CUE-generated tracks. It is still present in build 963.

Sounds like you are describing something different though if you've been listening for 16 hours before something goes wrong, could you perhaps elaborate on what problem you are seeing? If it is different, I'll separate this conversation to a different thread for clarity.

I'm quite sure we are talking about the same problem.  Although perhaps I haven't been able to faithfully recreate it as you have.

What I have done is from the library I pressed all songs then pressed the shuffle all button.

Then I move to the player / album art screen.  I tap on the album art to get the song list.  Not really sure what that is.  I select all then add them to the Queue.  I do this in order to be able to prune out a few song I might not want to hear.

Unfortunately I cleared the part of the Queue I listened to from the first half of my shift in order to avoid scrolling down as much. I guarantee I listened to at least five cue generated tracks in my fist shift.  Probably much more.

After the bug occurred while playing the Kinks I played a few "normal" single track files.  Then another generated cue track. But it was the last track on the disk so I didn't notice it.  Then some more normal tracks. Then It played a generated cue track perfectly.

So we seem to be having different experiences.  But we are probably doing things differently.  I've got 14585 lossless tracks in my library.  If that matters.  All different formats and whatnot.

@Whosondephone The bug being discussed in this thread is very specifically that when playing a CUE-generated track in single-song mode (i.e. play one song and then stop) playback does not reliably finish at the end of the quoted track duration, instead carrying on to play the rest of the master (source audio) file.

From your description, your problem seems completely different to this, could you confirm that at least the issue is that some CUE-generated track plays beyond the end of its quoted duration?
