Poweramp 9.21: have to disable notifications in app settings to prevent app from crashing at startup

Hello,

 

i have android 8.1 api level 27 and if i don't deselect notifications in app settings of Poweramp, the app keeps on crashing whenever i want to play a song.

What is your device? Meizu by any chance?

it happens on two devices, Teclast p80 tablet running android 10 go and a podofo android car stereo running android 9.1 go.

So which device is running the Android 8.1 that you mentioned in your first post? Have you tried to clear app data (in case Google is restoring settings from its cloud when you install on a new device)?

if i set 'notification style' to 'old' in Poweramp settings, it doesn't crash.

Can you collect Android debug info log for this issue? Usually at the top of the Android Settings > Developer Options page, but it varies between devices.

it already works, just i have to set notification to classic style. I'm content.

@knightrider2001 thanks for the details. Some ROMs are not fully compatible with the Android and may fail like this (such as Chinese Meizu ROMs, where European variants do work OK). Fortunately you can switch notification types in Poweramp Notification settings to workaround this.
