crf450r420
Note 10+, Android 11 Poweramp Build-905-arm64-play When I play Poweramp in my truck the volume will lower, or fight with itself and then lower to half. Mostly happens in my truck where I want to get in and go without touching my phone. If I play music another way the volume stays up, but stop it and play Poweramp it does it again. If I go into settings and touch the DVC to open the menu or just hold on it the volume freaks out in the same way. I've had DVC off and on. I really don't get the fighting volume, if I have the scale on screen you can see it jumping up and down like it's possessed. Only does it on truck and one other pair of BT headphones that I've found so far. I have tasker, so I disabled it and it still does it.
andrewilley
Does this only happen with Bluetooth? Have you ticked the control for Disable Bluetooth Absolute Volume, in Android Settings > Developer Options? Andre
crf450r420
So, I should have added this started when I did a factory reset to see if would clear up some wifi connection issues and for that reason I never thought it to possibly be an issue with the OS. But, I found that Bluetooth Absolute Volume today and disabled it, but that has not fixed it. I started with removing and installing Poweramp again. Thought this helped as it no longer was doing the volume fighting, but still lowered the volume. So, I found the Absolute and disabled that and I've have not used it much since to know all the behavior. However, the first time it didn't lower the volume and the second time it did. So, I went to the DVC menu to see if that still did strange stuff and it does. Just open the menu and the volume fights and lowers. Everything is turned off and I'm just opening the menu. If remember right, before I think I just held my finger on the DVC menu and would go nuts. Any other ideas and I'll play with it more when I drive to learn if it is acting any different. maxmp
@crf450r420 please make the screenshot from Poweramp "Audio Info" (scrolled to down) - exactly when connected to the headunit/car. Also screenshot of Poweramp "Last Processed Commands" settings page right after the volume issue happens will be useful. Poweramp may temporarily change volume +/-1 level during the first 5 seconds after BT connection to detect if Bluetooth Absolute Volume is enabled or not. This is controlled by "No DVC for Bluetooth Absolute Volume" option and the option may be disabled - especially if you know for sure "Absolute Volume" is disabled in Android Developer options; or it's not disabled and DVC is off in Poweramp, so no need to detect that. Thanks!
crf450r420
Well it seems good for like a day and a half or so and now it's hit or miss so I did your screenshots and it seems like I get the normal app info when it doesn't screw up but the time it did screw up and said that the audioengine had stopped or something

crf450r420
My other screenshots seem to be too big to post on here so I dropped my screen resolution and we'll see if this one works but it's just the command list when things worked right and I'll try to catch one when the engine audio engine or whatever stops especially if this lower screen resolution allows me to post pictures on here

crf450r420
Okay it does appear that the audio engine or whatever stops when it turns down and I also captured the command list and low resolution so I will attach that now
andrewilley
That seems similar to another thread, https://forum.powerampapp.com/topic/21076-aa-playback-continously-pauses/. The actual Android Bluetooth connection seems to be dropping, which could be why Poweramp adjusts the volume again upon re-establishing the link. crf450r420
I don't know, but I don't have android auto and I found it also does this on my garage BT adapter. Have to check now if the audio thing stops also, but as of now I'm guessing it will.
crf450r420
Also, never seems to disconnect as I can watch and hear the volume fighting up and down when it does that battle. Can only see it when I try to raise the volume while it's trying to lower it still.

In first case I would recommend changing between different types of Audio Output (OpenSL, Hi-Res, AAudio, Audiotrack) in Poweramp audio outputs. Can only see it when I try to raise the volume while it's trying to lower it still. Found it does it on wife's car, not using android auto and another set of headphones. Does it on all versions of audio output. Does it when i switch from Amazon music to this one. Freaks out on other Amazon music when I open the DVC menu on this program so looks to be something that menu works with.
crf450r420
So, any other help? Still does it and it's still very annoying on days where I'm in and out of my truck all day long.
Ndets
I had this 👇🏿 problem mentioned by @crf450r420 ... This was happening while absolute volume was disabled in android developer options and DVC was off in PA settings. This problem stopped after turning on DVC and enabling 'No DVC for Bluetooth Absolute Volume', both in PA settings. Absolute volume is still disabled in android developer options. Now the volume jumps from level 100 to level 34, then back to level 100 four or five times, then finally settles on level 34. It then jumps to level 100 after starting playback. My setup: PA build number = 905 Device model = Tecno KB8 Android version = 10 Custom ROM = HiOS v6.0.0 (Q-P31-191101) @andrewilley @maxmp
