Macky02
Hi just want to ask what is the difference of the preamp in RG compare to the preamp slider in the EQ ?
andrewilley
It does the same sort of thing. Replay Gain by default sets its maximum levels to somewhat lower than digital maximum (about -14dB lower than full-scale I seem to recall). This is to allow room for post-processing, EQ boosting, etc. If you don't plan to use those features, you can increase the gain somewhat to make your music louder than the RG default. Heroxoot
Replay gain is helpful to normalize volume indirectly. In my experience it won't affect music that's already a good volume, however quieter tracks will now be louder if set for a positive value. Preamp just needs everything to somewhat horrifying levels depending on how high you go.
