  1. It seems like since the new Rounded Corners option was added, the buttons under the cover art (shuffle, play, search) always stay more rounded nevertheless I chose less rounded in settings.

I am experiencing this behaviour on two different devices: Samsung A52 5G (Android 12) and Lenovo Tab TB-8705F (Android 10).

    1. Poweramp ain't showing the full resolution of odd resolution album art i.e. 1230x1230 or say 1435x1435. These resolutions are automatically being reverted to 600x600 unless specifically selected by long pressing album art and check marking high resolution. Please confirm that the album art with resolution 1200x1200 will be showing correctly i.e. their full resolution will be showing in Poweramp.

No, on my devices there are album artworks with odd resolution e.g. 709x709 too (see screenshot). And like in my previous example there are images with an original resolution of 1200x1200, which in the album art selection menu are shown with an resolution of 600x600.

  3. I just tested to randomly insert songs of a few albums to the queue list by just selecting whole albums and click Queue shuffled?

Right now this results in a queue list of correct ordered sequences of album tracks. Is this the desired behaviour?

To get what I want I can of course Re-sort the Queue list with Shuffle (random sort) option afterwards. Songs of newly added albums are then randomly inserted to the Queue list if using the button Queue shuffled again.

    Regards

  4. It seems like not every album on my devices is affected. Although I can't identify any regularity when album art is shown with correct resolution and when it isn't, but on both devices it's  the same album artworks which show the differences.

Am I right that the folders under Android/data/com.maxmpz.audioplayer/files are cleared if deleting PA's image cache? I don't want to test this.

    Regards

  5. I experience strange behaviour with album art resolution in the last time too.

For example the in-folder image of the album in the following screenshot has an original resolution of 1200x1200, but after long pressing on album art in main player the album art selection menu shows the image with an resolution of 600x600. I can't remember that it was like that before.

In settings Use 24-bit RGB and Increase Resolution are checked.

My devices are Samsung A52 5G, Android 12 and Lenovo Tab TB-8705F, Android 10, both with PA build 939.

    Regards

One simple way to get around the issue of recurrence of songs in subsequent shuffle sessions is to build a random playlist and then keep returning to that until it's finished. It's actually really easy to do:

To set it up: Go into the All Songs category, tap 'Select', choose 'All', then add everything to a new playlist using the '+Playlist' icon. Note: a fairly new feature allows you to long-press on the '+Playlist' icon to set it to Shuffle mode, so any items added to a playlist can be pre-shuffled - neat!

To listen: Open your newly created list in the Playlists category, and tap the 'Play' icon.

If you want the song and playback-position to be remembered for next time, go into the playlist's List Options menu and tick both 'List Position' and 'Per-Track Progress'. Then it doesn't matter what you do in the meantime, your shuffled playlist will be ready and waiting for you to continue listening later - just tap its Play icon again.

And it doesn't have to be All Songs of course, you could build from any sub-category of music that you wish - such as a Genre, or something from Folders Hierarchy. Or even make several shuffled playlists, each for a different purpose, and they will all remember where you had previously got to and won't repeat anything within that list.

    Request no.9:

The option of storing list position in every all songs list would be a nice solution too.

The point is, you don't know ahead of time what artist you want to select.  You just know you're in the mood to listen to a particular genre.  And within that genre, you discover the artist you want to go with.  If you just browse by artist in general, you're looking at too large of a list, and everything from Classical to Rap to Whatever is mixed all together, making for a crappy list to browse.

I also think that genre category is a pretty obvious starting point to browse for certain (album) artists because you have a much more condensed list.

This is such a fundamental function of the app since day one (the 'Play' and 'Shuffle' icons are new) [...]

I don't see why this could be an argument. I'm not requesting the additional list item click action to be the new default behaviour. As there already exist three different options for list item click action in settings, why not add one more? If you don't have a problem with accidentally interrupting playback you won't be forced to use this option.

Perhaps there are users out there, who prefer less responsive lists. For example I remember someone's feature request to optionally disable the swipe left/right gestures in the player UI to make this screen less responsive.

  9. To avoid accidentally interrupting playback while browsing through your library I would appreciate an additional option for list item click action. If choosing this option clicking on an item in the list wouldn't start playing the appropriate track but stay in the list.

In this state only the header buttons Play and Shuffle on top of the list and the play button in the player UI would start playback.

Additionally one could think about adding a play button in the popup menu when long-pressing on a track.

You say this only happens when PA fully stops at the end of a track, with nothing else left to follow on afterwards?

Yes, exactly. The track isn't cropped if playback automatically goes on with a following track.

What does the latency line show in Audio Info?

    The latency is 1200ms.
