  1. Whoops. Didn't realize there was a 2nd page. I added pictures to my original post 3 posts up.
  2. The device I have is a Joying 7" head unit with Android 10 (model # JY-UQ128N4G). It has a 7" display with 1024x600 resolution. So going to split screen would likely put Poweramp into 512x600 resolution, or almost square ratio as Andre stated. Here are screenshots of the default Poweramp display in normal view and split-screen view: In the default Poweramp skin view you'll see the artwork is just shrunk down and it isn't cropped. I played around with the settings in Albumart Options -> Album Art Rotation And Scaling. I turned on that mode and played around with the settings there. Of the 5 settings, the last 2 settings were the only 2 that seemed applicable for this issue. Scale album art: I could not figure out what this setting is doing. I set this to the lowest and highest values and I could not see a change in any view, normal or split-screen. Scale album art when playing: This setting shrunk/enlarged the album art. I turned this down from 1 -> .9 which slightly shrunk the artwork and made a bit of a border around it, which makes the view a bit nicer in normal view IMO. However, it had zero impact on the split screen mode. (Side note: Making this changed moved the top of the album art down, and is no longer aligned with the track/title text to the right. Is there a setting to move that text down so I could align it?) For all settings modified, the behavior of split-screen remained unchanged. The artwork was still cropped rather than shrunk down. Let me know if there are any other details I can provide that would be helpful. Thanks.
  3. I wasn't aware there was a way to reduce album art size, and I know I've looked for that in the past. Where is that located? I am aware I can hide almost everything. That aspect is dialed in. A better way to ask my question is: can I control hiding elements separately for full screen and split screen? I would only want to hide the track counter element if it was split screen because of the way it's covering the track name. Thanks.
  4. Is there a way to separately control the screen elements when in split screen mode? Screenshots below...you'll see what full screen looks like vs split screen where Poweramp is now just using half the screen. It would be helpful to be able to move or remove certain elements like the track counter that now covers up the track name, or even have the album artwork simply shrink in size rather than get cropped. 5. The head unit is a Joying JY-UQ128N4G running their latest firmware (Android 12 - 2022-8-15). Poweramp version is "build-939-bundle-play" (Full Version - 64-bit). FLAC files stored on a USB flash drive. Poweramp is installed on my Joying head unit. I'll play music with album art and meta info displaying without issue. When I turn off my car (Joying goes into sleep mode) and later return to it, it typically behaves in one of two ways: Album art is missing, but meta info (artist, album, track) is displaying. Swiping down to access library or left/right to change tracks typically does not work. Workaround: Click on the library button in the navbar, then click on the now playing bar to return to the main interface. Album art displays again and I can swipe to interact as expected. Album art is missing, but meta info (artist, album, track) is displaying. Swiping down to access library works, but going back does not fix anything. Swiping left/right shows album art for the next/previous track, but not current. After skipping around a few tracks and going back to the original, it will display the artwork again. Side note: It also typically loses track of the position of the currently playing track. I suspect this is all tied in to the same underlying cause, but may as well focus on one thing at a time. I've done the following in attempt to fix the problem: In the Library section I turned off all automatic scans after plugging in new device. My logic was that returning from sleep mode was seeing the USB drive re-attached and potentially re-scanning causing a delay in reading the info. These changes did not help. Turned on the option to wait for USB storage before resume playing. Did not see any change in behavior either way. My best guess is that Poweramp was not designed with a head unit in mind or having the tablet/device go into sleep mode that it has to recover from. Part of sleep mode is that the USB drive gets detached, and this may be part/all of the problem. I wonder if Poweramp kept track of what specific track was playing and where it was in the track and cached all the info (album art, meta info) when sleep mode was triggered, it could easily recover. As a side note, more often than not I'm finding that regardless of where I am in the current track, it typically either puts playback at 0:00 in the current track, or starts with the very next track in the list. Let me know if there is any logging information I can provide to help support these claims or assist in troubleshooting. Thanks.
  6. Very helpful. I'll head over to those threads and upvote the feature requests. Thanks!
  7. I'm not sure if this would be related to the skin or Poweramp, but here goes... Regarding the ability to swipe the screen left/right to change tracks, is it possible to narrow the scope of where you swipe or disable it entirely? It's already happened to me a couple times where I went to use the seek bar to move to a specific part of the song and instead it changed tracks on me. It would be nice to limit that behavior to only over the album art, but I wouldn't mind just being able to disable it completely since there are dedicated buttons for changing tracks forward and backward.
  8. +1 for this request. After using the YAPS skin and being notified that some of my requests would need to be added to Poweramp itself and not the skin, I found this feature request. I'm using Poweramp on an Android head unit in my car with a 7" screen, but I suppose for the sake of this discussion we can just say it's tablet with more real estate than a smartphone. I have the Album/Artist and Track text displaying to the right of the album art and above the player controls. I'd really like to separate out the text information and potentially add more tag information to use up that free space. I saw a mention of adding the %year% tag as well, which I would absolutely love. Would be great to have say 3-5 text fields that all could be enabled or disabled at will and would display tags of your choosing. Currently the text layout above the player control is formatted like this: [%albumartist% - %album%] [%title%] How I'd *really* like to have my screen formatted would be: [%albumartist%] [%album%] [%title%] [%year%] The additional year/date tag is just a nice to have, but it would be greatly beneficial to be able to separate out the album/artist tags to make use of that free space. Below is a screenshot of a Kenwood head unit I have that I'm trying to mimic (this particular head unit took out the year tag that was present on my previous unit). Thanks.
  9. Oh OK, nice. Thanks for looking into that if that would be an additional feature. BTW - Great work on this skin, and well worth the additional price on top of Poweramp. The level of customization is insane. I'm 90% of the way in dialing in my configuration and then I'll be installing this head unit into my car. Still playing around with some minute details. While on the topic, there are a few other items I'd like to see if they're possible to do. If not, I'd like to add them as feature suggestions. And if there's an official way to submit feature suggestions, please advise. Is there any flexibility in adding/manipulating/removing tag information from the main screen? Referencing the screenshots of my layout, it currently has "<Artist> - <Album>" on the first line, then "<TrackName>" on the second line. Can I split this up and do "<Artist>" on the first line, "<Album>", on the second line, and "<TrackName>" on a 3rd line? Also wondering if it's possible to add other tag information such as <Year>. I'd love to be able to break out the text and use up some of that free space on my screen. The area that the artist/album/track text occupies I'm going to call a container for the sake of this question. Is it possible to move or resize the container for this text? When I have a long track name that scrolls, the scroll stops before the last character is visible. It's like the container is actually stretching off the screen. Pictures below of the text area and how it looks when it finishes scrolling, as well as a picture from the track list so you can see the full track name. The screen resolution of this head unit is 1024x600. The Album/Artist font size was enlarged to 15.0. If I drop that down to 12.0 it sits static without scrolling but still has the "r)" still cut off.
  10. @flyingdutchman Are you referring to "Colour background options" -> "Track, Album and Artist text background color"? I did find that, but I don't care for the look. I was looking for a way to match the screenshot I provided of the Kenwood display...ideally placing maybe a 5-10% shade over the entire background album art blur so that it's consistent and the text is always perfectly legible. Is there a way to do that? I think the primary reason I don't like the background color of the artist/track text is because enlarging the text causes the background of the text to enlarge, overlap each other, and run into the system bar at the top (with clock and notification icons). Regardless, in general I prefer to not have a shading just behind the text...it just doesn't look as clean to me. I did try the different car modes under "Miscellaneous Options" -> "Landscape Options". None of those address this issue, and I'm also not really a fan of the car modes. I really like the stock Poweramp look with all the information it provides and the layout and options, while adding your skin to make some minor tweaks to make it easier to read/navigate and remove what I don't want. While I understand the draw to some, I have nice 7" screen and don't want to reduce it down to the look and feel of Android Auto...I want to take advantage of the real estate. I could just use Android Auto if I liked that look
  11. What's the best way to add a shade over the background album art blur? The text gets completely lost when the album cover is completely white, or when the text color matches an album cover that is a single solid cover. I tried playing around with the gradient options but all that does is put a color gradient in the background eliminating the blurred album cover. I'd prefer to keep the background as an album art blur because I like the changing colors and matching color scheme per song. Here's how my skin configuration currently looks with my preferred layout: Here's how it looks when the text gets lost: And here's how I'd like it to look. This is how a Kenwood head unit displays the artwork for the same song/file. You'll see it's doing the same effect with blurring the album artwork for the background but it applies a shade over the entire thing:
  12. Not sure if it's the same issue, but I'm certainly having a similar issue with the Joying Android-based head unit in my car. I'm using version build-939-bundle-play. Sometimes when resuming from some form of sleep, the track will resume and song info displays but the artwork will be missing Additional details: I'm using a USB flash drive filled with FLAC files and playlists. When I switch off the ACC position and the screen shuts off, if I turn it back on within a few minutes (within 5 minutes based on my testing) it resumes play and shows all artwork like it should. If I let it sit any longer than that, when I turn it back on the track will resume but from the start of the track and the artwork will be missing...basically just a black background with no album art. Skipping forward to next track or backwards to previous track typically does not recover the album artwork (sometimes yes and usually no). However, I discovered that if I swipe down to bring up the track list it immediately recovers all album artwork. Poking around in the settings in the Misc section I found an option to reload the skin, but unfortunately that did not help. This is a minor nuisance with a workaround, but would be nice if there was a way to fix this permanently that didn't require me to perform a couple swipes after the unit starts.
  13. My audio output was using, and defaulted to, OpenSL ES Output. It's currently showing "Active" next to that selection, as well as the "Speaker" section within. Looking through there and going into the Settings cog next to "Speaker", I saw there was an additional ducking option there "No Duck". I changed that from disabled to enabled, but that had no impact to the behavior. While there I also tested with DVC enabled and disabled, but no change in behavior there either. OpenSL ES Hi-Res Output is not available for me since I'm not using Bluetooth or USB DAC. I don't believe I mentioned this before, but I'm using a USB flash drive with FLAC files connected directly to the USB input on the Joying head unit. My phone is not in play here other than being used to test phone calls through the head unit while playing music. I did go ahead and try AudioTrack Output with and without the No Duck option, but no change in behavior with any combination thereof. I did see that other thread you linked, but I didn't post there thinking his issue wouldn't apply to me because it was only impacting outgoing calls and not incoming. Also, much of that discussion was around the Audio Focus settings, and those are all the options that I had completely exhausted already when troubleshooting this myself. With that said, I'll go back and re-read through that thread to see if anything else sticks out as worth trying. Any other ideas/thoughts would be appreciated. Thanks.
  14. I just tried disabling that option, but the behavior was the same for both making and receiving calls. Any other thoughts? Side note: Is it recommended to kill or close then re-open Poweramp when making settings changes, at least when troubleshooting issues such as this? Thanks.
  15. Hey guys, I'm a new user of Poweramp. Just started testing over the past few days, and purchased a license yesterday. I have a Joying 7" double-din Android head unit that I'm testing with Poweramp. I feel I've got things mostly dialed in at this point, but I just uncovered an issue after pairing my phone and testing out calls with the head unit. When I have Poweramp playing music with the main interface displaying on screen, I'll attempt to both make and receive calls to check the call quality and test everything. In doing so I found that Poweramp is being muted but the music is continuing to play...it's not pausing the playback. I'm not sure if this is a Poweramp configuration/software issue or an Android issue, but I figured I would start here. The head unit is a Joying JY-UQ128N4G running their latest firmware (Android 12 - 2022-8-15). Poweramp version is "build-939-bundle-play" (Full Version - 64-bit). Here are the settings from Settings -> Audio -> Audio Focus: Resume After Call = Enabled Resume On Start = Enabled Resume On Reopen = Enabled Wait For Storage = Disabled Short Audio Focus Change / Calls = Enabled Pause In Call = Enabled (Greyed out due to above being enabled) Duck Volume = Enabled Permanent Audio Focus Change = Enabled Aside from skin settings, I haven't really wandered outside of the Audio -> Audio Focus settings, so the configure is largely default in that regard. Please advise if there is any other information I can provide to help troubleshooting. Thanks!
