  1. Bump. Any help on this? Posted this almost a year ago with no response. This remains to be the single most aggravating aspect of using Poweramp on my car's Android head unit.
  2. Good idea and something that was a passing thought at one point but that slipped my mind. I'll try that next. Strange thing is that this issue plagued me in the past but was very infrequent. Last month I updated my head unit with the latest ROM version and updated Poweramp to the current build at that time, and it seems like the problem is now happening every day. Theoretically I should be able to wait until it happens, close Poweramp, and then try playing the same song in another app and see if it's doing the same thing. If that doesn't shed any new light on the issue, then I'll permanently switch to another music app for a period of time and see what happens. Thanks for the input.
  3. Based on your description I seem to be having a similar or the same problem. I have a Joying Android head unit in my car with RCA output to an amp powering my front and rear component sets and a sub. What happens to me is that sometimes at seemingly random time the audio will drop on the right channel. I'll elaborate a bit on "seemingly random". There is no audio event that's triggering this...it's not like I'm getting a call, or text message, or navigation prompt that's overtaking audio...those are not a factor. Sometimes it will just happen mid-song, sometimes it happens when it changes tracks. One time I did a reboot of the head unit and the problem went away. I've tried closing/re-opening Poweramp and that didn't make a difference. Randomly it will just stop. That said 95% of the time I'm listening to music this doesn't happen...but that 5% seems to be increasing. As to what's happening - It very much sounds like the left channel increases in volume while the right channel decreases in volume. Since it's just me in the car it's hard to determine at the time it's happening. I just lean over so that my head is approximately centered in the car and the audio is very clearly much louder in the left channel. I have all the equalizer stuff in Poweramp turned off/default, but if I open the Android equalizer and play with the balance and put the balance all the way to the right, the left channel turns off and the right is decreased from what it should be...I would say maybe 25-50% the volume that it should be at. When I put the balance all the way to the left, the right channel turns off and the left is either at the proper volume or slightly louder than it should. I was about to post in here but then came across this thread. I was just looking for some thoughts on where I could start to troubleshoot this, as it very clearly looks like a software issue (either Poweramp or Android) and not a hardware issue (amp or head unit). Potentially this could be a head unit issue I suppose, but again I would "expect" that it would work or not...the factors at play here don't point to hardware, cabling, etc. I'm looking to start by seeing if there's something I can do inside of Poweramp to confirm what's happening and narrow down whether it's a/the culprit in this issue. Perhaps there's some debug logging I can enable just to see if it's reporting a change in configuration of channel balance? Any thoughts? Thanks.
  4. I saw the update was posted to the Play Store today. Updated it and all settings seem to be working great. Got everything dialed in for both Portrait and Landscape views. Thanks!
  5. Same issue. I downloaded the new skin and it immediately threw that error message. I went into the screen that has these new options and I did the "Restore Defaults" at the bottom of the screen, and this allowed the skin to work again. I started toying around with the Play button size for the Portrait view and got everything dialed in the way I like. Then I went in and made the same change to Landscape view and immediately started crashing. It seems that any changes to the Landscape view for these new settings is crashing the skin.
  6. Hey guys, I've got one issue to report and one feature request. One thing to note is that my usage of PA and YAPS is limited to my car's Android head unit, and I often switch between landscape (full screen) and portrait (split screen, when sharing PA with navigation) views. After one of the last few updates I noticed that the Track/Album text would randomly get cut off when in portrait view. The odd thing is that if I pressed Play/Pause it would fix the issue and display the full text...until the next song came on and the text changed, then it would happen again. Today I was motivated to play around with the settings and I found that a value of "92" for the Up/Down setting in Portrait view was the sweet spot that solved this problem and fully displayed the text without being cut off. If I set this at 93 the lowercase "Y"s, "P"s, "J"s etc would start cutting off, and any lower just cuts off even more text. But again, pressing Play/Pause would temporarily solve this problem. Moving the Waveseek bar/Play buttons down lower did not allow me to move lower than 92. So while initially I thought it might just be settings and overlapping of elements, this appears to be more of a bug. Feature request: Can you please allow for the sizing of the Play, Previous/Next Track, Category buttons independently between landscape and portrait views. The buttons were sized perfectly for me in landscape view, but the buttons in portrait view were extremely tiny and almost unusable while driving. Since I was playing around today I tried changing these settings, and now whatever setting I use, even if I revert back to my original settings of 30 dpi (all the way left), the buttons are the exact same size regardless of whether I'm in landscape or portrait view...so now it's too small in landscape view. Having one setting for both views makes it impossible for me to find a happy medium where the buttons are properly sized for both views. I really don't know why they were sized differently before I changed the setting today and now it's the same between both views, and I can't get back.
  7. Is this a design change or a bug? The navbar (or whatever it's called at the bottom of the screen with the buttons - highlighted in red) no longer stretches across the screen. I believe this changed with v219, which I just upgraded recently to fix the disappearing seekbar issue. I haven't updated PA. Even stranger, when I click on the menu item highlighted in green below, when it switches screens it then stretches across the entire screen. When I go back to the main player mode, it shrinks to only the right side of the screen. In case this additional info is helpful, when I shift between portrait (split screen) and landscape views, the navbar is static in its placement when switching between the two. Perhaps it's locked into portrait view.
  8. It seems like an invisible box is being drawn encompassing the Shuffle button (and any other button on that horizontal line that I have hidden) and the track counter, especially since the one "Buttons" setting is being used for all of them. Because that one setting applies to all of that, it's very difficult to get a placement that I like. I ended up with this one here so that the Shuffle and other related buttons are above the seekbar and the track counter is below the seekbar. It's not ideal, but it's the best compromise I could create with the options available to me, and that seems to be causing my seekbar problem. Is there any way to separate them into different settings, at least the track counter from the rest, rather than just one "Buttons" setting?
  9. This morning I updated PA to the most recent version (957) and YAPS to the most recent version (915), but there was no change in behavior for the problem I listed above. However, I found the setting that's causing this behavior after playing around with it. Hopefully this helps you find a fix. The issue is with the "Buttons" value in the Portrait layout settings. My current setting (1st screenshot below) is at "66". Here the shuffle button is above the seekbar and the track counter is below the seekbar. If I change this value to "77" or anything higher so that both the shuffle button and track counter are below the seekbar (2nd screenshot below), the problem goes away. However, this obviously creates a problem with my layout.
  10. I did confirm Poweramp has storage permissions when I originally set it up. This is likely tied in with other issues I had when initially setting up PA. For example, I have to enable Legacy mode to access my USB drive with all my FLAC files. I went down that rabbit hole and found some applications that were recommended to be installed, especially since this is on a Joying brand Android head unit. Unfortunately, the installation of Google Files (if memory serves) did not help. So I just left Legacy mode on in the hopes they don't decommission that functionality.
  11. Unfortunately, it doesn't look like I can. I get an error message when I try to export settings (screenshot below). Do you have any other ideas for getting you what you need to troubleshoot this?
  12. Hey guys, Just noticed a new issue this morning and not exactly sure if it started with this most recent YAPS update or a previous one. I cannot use the seekbar to skip forward or backward in the song. If I try to swipe on the seekbar, say to fastforward to a specific point in the song, instead it skips tracks forward/backward depending on which way you swipe as if you were swiping on the album artwork. I found that the only way I can seek is to swipe somewhere within the visualization graph that displays behind the Play/Pause buttons, and swiping over the Play/Pause buttons doesn't do anything...so it's a hard area to hit and very difficult to use. I switched back to the default skin and the problem is not present there...I'm able to seek as expected by swiping on the seekbar.
  13. That explains the empty button at the corner of the artwork that I recently reported.
  14. This did the trick. I wouldn't have thought to play with the Left/Right settings to adjust the size...I thought it was only movement. Thanks!
  15. I found some oddities with the Landscape view after enabling "diy layout" that I wanted to report just in case you hadn't seen these yet. I know it's still a work in progress. The seekbar became elongated and is now covering up part of the albumart. Is there a setting somewhere to change the width of the seekbar? If you scroll up a few posts you can see a screenshot showing the seekbar prior to enabling "diy layout". Moving around the Metainfo is a bit buggy. You'll notice that all of the text items have black bubbles behind them so you can read the white text. If you change the Up/Down behavior so that it's at or above the seekbar, the bubble shows as expected. However, if you move it below the seekbar it loses that bubble and becomes hard to read. I found the approximate location where it starts fading in/out and captured that in the screenshot below...it looks like a line directly above it. I'm unable to move the track duration buttons any lower than what's shown in the screenshot below...it's maxed out as far Down as the slider will allow. I'd like to get these below the seekbar. There's a setting towards the top simply called "Buttons" which appears to include both the Shuffle button and the track counter (possibly others as well that I have hidden). When changing these settings, the Up/Down applies to both, but the Left/Right does *not* apply to the Shuffle button...it stays docked to the right. It's a bit wonky trying to dial in this setting that works with both.
  16. Thanks for the tip, Beda. I'll try playing around with that setting to tweak my Landscape view, which is default on my Android head unit. I found that Portrait view was working correctly. I shifted my screen to split-screen between Maps and Poweramp and I was able to dial in the view of that setting exactly how I like. HUGE thanks for implementing this feature. I also noticed that the albumart is now resizing properly. Before it was getting cropped in a weird way, but now the albumart is properly scaling down. The only thing I might suggest is providing a way to hide certain details individually per Portrait and Landscape view. If I have navigation going, I'm doing split-screen. In that particular case I would want to create a minimalist view and perhaps remove the metainfo and track counter, whereas I would want them on the Landscape view. Just a thought for a feature suggestion, but I'm super happy to have this additional level of customization. Thanks!
  17. No, that doesn't appear to be it. I already had that option disabled. I went ahead and re-enabled that option and now I have 2 icons there. I think this is skin-related, but it is worth mentioning that I updated Poweramp to the current build at the same time as the YAPS upgrade.
  18. Hey guys, I just updated from v209 to v211 and have a couple questions: What is the new icon that's appearing at the top right of the albumart? Pressing on this icon does the same as pressing on the albumart. This didn't exist prior to updating YAPS to v211 today and I'm looking for a way to hide/disable it. A couple posts up andrewilley mentions a new feature that's supposed to allow me to fine tune the location of various objects on the screen. I'm particularly interested in moving around the track and artist/album info around. However, the setting mentioned does not apply any changes to my screen. I tried both portrait and landscape views, and even closed/restarted Poweramp. None of those settings are making any change at all to my screen. Thanks.
  19. 100x100 album art - Split-Screen view (Yaps skin): 300x300 album art - Split-Screen view (Yaps skin): 300x300 album art - Full-Screen view (Yaps skin): 300x300 album art - Split-Screen view (Default Poweramp skin):
  20. I did not. Thinking it might have something to do with resolution switching, I did try closing Poweramp, enabling split-screen view, then reopening Poweramp. This would ensure the application started in the reduced resolution, but this had no effect. In split-screen view I can switch back and forth between the default skin and Yaps, and Yaps will crop the artwork while the default skin is shrinking it down properly. If you think there is value in trying a music file with no artwork or a reduced size artwork, or if there are any other suggestions, I can do that later today. Thanks.
  21. Can you please point me to the setting you'd like me to adjust? Either I'm not making the correct adjustment, or it's just not making any change on my side. The album artwork on every single FLAC file I have is 600x600. However, I wouldn't expect this to be a factor as the default skin doesn't seem to have any issues with scaling when in split-screen view. Here are some new screenshots in case this helps: 1) Yaps skin all defaults - normal view 2) Yaps skin all defaults - split-screen view (Note: Album art cropped on top and bottom) 3) Settings changes attempted in Yaps skin: scale album art -> moved both sliders to lowest possible value 4) Changes seen in normal view (Note: Album art shrunk in size with extra space surrounding) 5) Changes seen in split-screen view (Note: Album art shrunk in size with extra space surrounding, but same amount of cropping still occurring) 6) Switched over to default Poweramp skin (Note: Album artwork scaled down properly, full album art displaying)
  22. Are you referring the size of the embedded album artwork in the FLAC file, or are you referring to a setting within Poweramp or Yaps? I'm not sure if you're saying there's nothing that can be done about my setup here, or if there's a settings change I still need to make. It appears that you may have corrected it with the first picture in this post. Referring back to the 2nd picture of this previous post from me, the default skin is apparently scaling the artwork automatically on its own when in split screen view.
  23. Here's what I did in order: reset all Yaps skin settings to defaults, switched back to default Poweramp skin, closed the app, uninstalled Yaps, reopened Poweramp to confirm it was no longer showing Yaps as a selectable skin, closed Poweramp, reinstalled Yaps, reopened Poweramp, turned on the Yaps skin and made no settings changes at all. Behavior was still the same. Are there any specific settings I should be playing with? Let me know if there's any other information you'd like to gather.
  24. Mistake on my end. I edited my original post. Sorry for the confusion.
  25. EDIT: Removing and revising my original post. I realized I provided a screenshot of the Poweramp build info rather than the Yaps skin build info. I did confirm that it's showing on v209 for the skin. I see no change in behavior. Are there any settings I need to change? The artwork is still large and cropped, and the track counter is still sitting on top of the track/title text.
