mindless
I just recently upgraded my Samsung Galaxy Note 3 to kitkat 4.4.2.Poweramp was working flawlessly prior to the OS upgrade. It now randomly pauses and stutters while music is playing. My phone is mostly just sitting idle while Poweramp is running.I've tried adjusting the Audio Buffer Size, and the Audio Thread Priority and neither thing seems to make a difference. andrewilley
I've just bought a Note 3 and it came with KitKat 4.4.2, so once I start setting it up and install Poweramp on it I'll be able to see if I get the same issue. Andre
h3lv3c10
I have discovered a palliative solution to give all priority to Poweramp. When I run Poweramp, I turn off all the background processes and turn it on again as soon as possible when I quit this app. Settings\More\Developer options\APPs\"No background processes"It's not a definitive solution, but it solves the skips permanently. maxmp
We can't reproduce this issue on our Note3 yet, either we have another model/ROM, or this is also dependent on some other apps. If Poweramp skips this means something just blocked CPU more for 250ms, or there is an issue in Audio Driver. This is a huge CPU stress, do you notice higher battery consumption after update? Also, are those songs from sd card or from internal memory?Does this happen in the middle of songs, or in the beginning/ending?Is this for BT or wired headset/speaker?Does this happen for any format or for specific ones (e.g. wma / or lossless)? Thanks!

Thanks! I'm having the same issue on my Galaxy Note 2 not rooted and it SPECIFICALLY started after the most recent update to it (version 4.3): 1. Songs are from SD Card.2. Sometimes during the middle but its not consistent.3. Both BlueTooth AND Wired. Not sure about speaker since I dont listen to music this way.4. All i use is MP3 and WMA. Seems to happen to both. It doesn't happen alot, maybe once every 10-15 minutes.
andrewilley
Just to eliminate the possibility, could you try with the new Poweramp build 556 that was released for downloading from the forum today? Thanks. [Edit Added 23-May] It may be too early to confirm, but during my 50 minute drive to work today I didn't notice any odd playback glitches at all in the file I was listening to (Note 3 stock KitKat ROM, rooted, via Bluetooth) Andre

I have no playback issues via headphones or bluetooth using Poweramp and Viper4Android.
