Why audio turns off when watching video

Why is it that after updating to build 956 every time I play a video on social media the Poweramp audio always turns off and the Poweramp apk has to be restarted so the audio comes back on, even though in previous versions this never happened.

What Output method are you using, and what settings for Audio Focus (both in PA Setting=>Audio). If a permanent Audio Focus Change is requested, PA will indeed stop playback as that's what it is meant to do (unless you've configured it otherwise anyway).

@andrewilley i am using hi-res output.

Try using OpenSL ES.

@andrewilley changing to openSL will affect the audio quality or not?

Relevant to the two concurrent threads on this same topic, isn't there a separate No Duck option for each output that could be involved?
