Mankeerat
Unless I am mistaken, before the recent update, Poweramp wouldn't upsample 96khz(as shown by the audio-info page over OK Computer Art) or even 44.1khz tracks. Also, why can't PA play a 48Khz 24bit file with 24bit output rather than 16bit(as shown by the audio-info page over the album art with a shark in it)? Mankeerat
In all of these examples the sample rate was manually set to the file's native sampling rate. Dolby effects were turned off. Here is a screenshot of what the page looked when OK Computer is playing:
Solution andrewilley Posted September 22, 2022 Solution Share Posted September 22, 2022 Look like you are using a Samsung device, and their firmwares often restrict high resolution output to matched settings. So for example 96/192kHz output will be locked to 24-bit output, higher rates will be set to 32-bit, and regular 44.1/48kHz to 16-bit. Shubham Studio DJ Remix
Dear,Mankeerat Try to change dither from resampler or try to change sample rate note: must match remapler and sampler of output. there is problem with your chipset of samsung's exynos. these problem is being faced with some mtk and sdm chipsets too. it will fix soon. Thanks

This is useful information, thanks for sharing.

Thanks Hmm okay, the dither settings are unclear as to what percentage/dither to use so I'll just use the app as is. It's not like I will notice the difference between 44.1/48/96khz or 16/24bit as the bit rate is already in the thousands. Well, atleast on a smartphone headphone jack I won't. I use Poweramp primarily for the exceptional gesture based UI design and .CUE support.

You will notice in future because there are many problems due to processors. there are many processors which are set to a limited bitrate, sample etc. Thanks. andrewilley
Dithering is more useful when down-sampling frequencies. It basically adds low level noise to help mask potential quantisation artefacts. I wouldn't worry about it if you are outputting at the same rate as the source or higher.
