Playlists and Cue files

I've noticed a strange problem with playlists.

If I have a playlist (.m3u) with a set of .mp3's in a folder, no problem.

But if I add a .cue file to the folder, then the scan of the folder results in PA telling me "Doesn't look like anything to me" when I try to run the playlist.

To be clear, I am not adding .cue files to the playlist (.m3u) file. They are simply resident alongside the mp3's in the same folder and are available as a separate way to play the file.

In my use case, the .cue files are used to separate individual tracks out of the mp3s. This part of PA works great and is one of the reasons I am still high on this app.

I don't know if the problem is the name of the .cue file or .mp3 file, or where it is stored.

Thanks for your attention.

If the CUE files are being used to reference specific MP3 files, PA won't normally retain both items in the database, it will show only the CUE generated item. So when a playlist looks for the MP3 filename, PA will have hidden it. You can force the MP3s to be shown too, using Settings=>Library=>Lists=>Show CUE Disc Image Files, but that could result in unnecessary duplicates being displayed.

Or does your problem relate to MP3 files which do not have any CUE files which link to them?

Thanks Andrew, I did not have that setting in effect. I'll enable it and go from there.

The rest of your post makes perfect sense and fits neatly with my observations. Thanks.
