poikiloid
In the past, I had bad performance on Android (in both Poweramp as well as other apps) when I had all my music files, (maybe 2,000) music files in one folder. I have since divided them up into alphabetic folders, and it works good. But is there a specific max number of files I should try to keep each folder under? andrewilley
There's not really a practical maximum limit these days, it just makes common sense to organise content rather than throwing everything into one big location. I don't know if there are any specific database or file system implications though, but logically just loading and sorting tens of thousands of items has got to take longer than doing so with a few hundred. I have over 1,000 songs in my Singles folder, and I'm sure that will grow over time. Andre
