      Poweramp v3 Project Update   04/24/2017

As you may be aware, the Poweramp developer has been working hard on an updated material design user interface for Poweramp v3 which required a full ground-up rebuild of the code. It is hoped this will be ready for final beta-testing by the end of the May. See forum thread for more details and to discuss.

  1. I never solved the issue. The only pattern I could find is it only happens on large playlists (over several hundred). I think it would be easy if the shuffle algorithm or process was revealed so maybe we could figure out what's going on. Unfortunately this issue made me give up on Poweramp entirely. Well at least until the next version comes out. What's funny is I still create and update my playlists from Poweramp because its the easiest for me and it accurately identifies newly added songs compared to the rest of the apps. Then I export that SAME list (that has the issue in Poweramp only) to a few other players and I rarely hear the same song played twice with those other apps' shuffle algorithms..
  2. Try installing this from your phone. You may have to allow "3rd party apps". Once you install it, load it, let it update (if necessary) then login with your existing Google account. http://www.apkmirror.com/apk/google-inc/google-play-store/google-play-store-7-4-09-l-all-0-pr-143719094-release/google-play-store-7-4-09-l-all-0-pr-143719094-android-apk-download/
  3. Thanks for the tips. I will try this soon.
  4. For me, yes. I just get frustrated and use another music/media app (again using the same playlist) and the problem is gone. But..... you know I PREFER Poweramp. Today i just heard about 10 songs (within about 50 minutes) that I forgot I added a month ago while listening on another app that I forgot I added to my device.
  5. Well its playing the same song 3 or 4 times in a small time window. It definitely does not complete a cycle of a playlist before it repeats.
  6. New music is not shown

Did you make sure that you can view the actual music files outside of Poweramp. I had a similar issue and found out later it was a corrupted SD card. Never thought files could appear then disappear due to corruption. But it happened.
  7. I just noticed about 20 random mp3's were converted from .mp3 to mp3.0, I'm suspecting Poweramp. Anyone else notice these filenames on your phone/SD card?
  8. I understand this, however, I can use the same exact playlist on any media player and do not have this issue. Its like the algorithm play the same track 4 or 5 times in 10 instances and in between that 6 or 7 new songs. And it repeats constantly. So in a few hours time maybe only truly heard 18-25 different tracks, at best. I wish there was a way to force the shuffle algorithm not to play the same song until the list is finished.
  9. It used to work that way for me. It will even pick the same songs like 3 or 4 times in less than hour. My playlists have always been this large.
  10. I have noticed that since 703 update, the shuffle playlist feature only rotates about 100 songs out of the 2000+ I have. The algorithm either appears to be corrupted or has a very limited spectrum. I have tried: Rebooting the device Reshuffling the order Deleting/recreating playlist Other media players do not display this issue with the same playlists (played songs I had almost completely forgot about because of Poweramps's "shunning"). Was not able to resolve the issue. Anyone else experience this issue? Trying to determine if my issue is isolated to my device. My device: Verizon LG G4, Android 6.0
  11. Garbled playback over Bluetooth

I have the same issue, didn't start coming up until build 702. It is bad. It seems when it gets its worse it slows down my entire system. When I look at available memory I still have 500MB or more free when it gets pretty bad. A couple of times its completely locked up my phone, got hot, and rebooted. I have tried everything from different outputs, disabling DVC, tweaking buffer in every way possible. No go. The strange thing about this, Ido not have any issues, whatsoever, with other popular music players via Bluetooth. I prefer to use Poweramp. BTW I know this is beta, but I have this same issue on both my G3 and G4 on the last stable release on V2. I suspected a while back that Poweramp just does not play well with LG devices. Everything works fine when using an audio cable/jack. I have an LG G4 VS986 - Verizon.
  12. Crossfade is not working.

Cool I will wait patiently. Thanks.
  13. Not sure if this is not fully implemented or a known bug, so please delete this post if that is the case. Playing from playlists and all songs.Bluetooth.Toggled cross fade off and on.Quick fade on manual change works fine.Have stop/restarted appTweaked cross fade times. Verizon LG G3 (VS985) on Android 5.1.1 Other than that I have to say that V3 Alpha has worked overall far greater than previous builds.
  14. Same issue. Does it on all calls. Android 5.1.1 Verizon LG G3 (VS985)
  15. I tried all these settings, no luck. LG G3 (VS985). Seems to only work, somewhat, when not playing from a playlist. All I see is the logo with a black background. The visualizations work, however, but they are out of sync as my bluetooth has a 7 second delay and the settings only allow up to 5.
