Stop and Pause are effectively the same thing, apart from the fact that a full STOP will also reset the current track's playback position to 0:00 - is that what is happening when you disconnect the headset cable?

You can adjust the behaviour for short audio focus changes and permanent audio focus changes via Poweramp Settings > Audio > Audio Focus.

Hi Andre,

Appreciate your spontaneous response.

I mean to say that Poweramp doesn't appear in the notification or in background when headset is disconnected instead of pause.

and second thing it is expected that Poweramp should just be paused when other player is played. When i use audio focus option, it either keep playing along with other video or vanished from the screen. Then I have to reach up to the app to play it again.

Correct on both counts.

The notification line & matching status bar item will disappear when playback is stopped (same as paused) from within the app, or by disconnecting the headphones, etc. The status bar item is there because there is audio playing, not just telling you that you have Poweramp loaded on your device. The only way it would stay for a while is if you use the notification item itself to pause the playback, then it would remain visible in case you wanted to restart the same way.

And yes, when Poweramp is told that there has been a permanent audio focus change requested (such as another app taking control of audio output - as opposed to a temporary one like a notification sound or a sat-nav direction message) then it will permanently stop playing - that is what it is meant to do.

You can set PA to auto-start playback when you launch it though, which would mean all you need to do is tap the Poweramp icon and playback should resume when it left off.
