When editing WAV files, the tags cannot be modified

.wav doesn't handle metadata very well. Consider .flac?

You can check what data is readable by long-pressing on a song and selecting Info/Tags. But WAV is not an ideal format for tagging, it was never in its original spec and not all programs or apps support it. WAV is more designed for fast editing, not listening on modern devices.
