Player customization not working in android auto

I'm trying to improve my Poweramp use in android auto. There's loads of customization options that work on the phone, like list options or change image etc, but none of these reflect in android auto, do they just not work ?  Specifically Im trying to get rid of random images in genre and playlist views so it just lists the names, it works on my phone but makes no difference on headunit. Can anyone help?

Android Auto is largely its own boss in these situations, but there are some options that might help in the PA Settings=>Misc section for Android Auto.
