Mark Lee
Hi, I want to know about the limit feature as I can't notice any difference when I try it. I have the equaliser set flat on my tablet and adjust the treble and bass on the hifi, I only use the tone button with equaliser still set at flat when using headphones, do I need to use limit or not? Or am I missing something with the setting, it sounds good when playing music via bluetooth as is so should I be worried?
andrewilley
Limit will reduce the gain whenever a peak level (including any EQ boosts) gets so loud that it would introduce distortion. In extreme cases it can introduce a volume dipping effect during heavy bass/etc segments. It's generally better to adjust your preamp and EQ settings so you don't need it. DVC helps too. Mark Lee
Can I just confirm, having tricky moment, with my eq setting at flat with no table or bass that I don't need to use the limit button, also would the same apply when connected to my hifi. andrewilley
@Mark Lee Yes, if you run everything flat with no other effects, and don't boost either the EQ preamp or the ReplayGain preamp, you should be able to turn the Limiter off. In fact, it probably wouldn't make any difference either way. Andre
