Playlist resets after phone lock (including the CURRENTLY playing track) when adding track from file system

MIUI version: MIUI Global 12.5.4 Stable 12.5.4.0 (RFDEUXM)

Steps to reproduce:
- Browse any audio file in the file browser
- Add it to Poweramp by long pressing file -> more -> Open in another app -> Poweramp
- Play it for >1 second
- Pause
- Lock the phone
- Unlock the phone

After unlocking the phone, the audio file will be missing from the playlist and it starts playing from the 1st track of the playlist again.

I've been listening to downloaded podcasts for months now, and it's really frustrating having to remember where I left off, swapping to file browser, adding it again and winding it to the point where I left off (provided I still remember) every single time I dare to lock/unlock my phone.

Poweramp is intended to be library-based, so no need for launching audio files from a file explorer app. If you open your files from PA's Folders view, you can even set it to remember thelast-played position should you decide to listen to something else in the meantime. Just make sure your podcasts or podcast folders are inside a folder that PA has in its scannable Music Folders list.
