steven005140 Posted March 29, 2021 Share Posted March 29, 2021 Hey, is it possible to play the Dolby Atmos music files (extensions usually end with .m4a and .mp4, and they contan 5.1 channels) I got some Dolby Atmos music files but Poweramp fails to play them Do I have to change some settings to play them?? andrewilley Posted March 29, 2021 Share Posted March 29, 2021 PA can only handle stereo audio, it is not designed for multi-track files. Some formats may work (depends on ffmpeg compatibility I guess) but will either be downmixed to stereo or just the Front-L and Front-R channels will be used. I think Dolby Atmos is a proprietary format (like DTS etc) so probably would not work without a licencing arrangement and required fees. Max could confirm that though.
